It is indeed mediocre, but still I finished it 2 times, it's not bad considering how many games I was too bored to finish
ОтветитьI’m enjoying the game so are many other people. If you don’t like it don’t play the game you weirdos love your negativity echo chambers
ОтветитьThe story is terribly bland and unmemorable, and that stuff is important to fans of Bethesda games. It’s unfair to actual RPGs to put this in the same category. If development had actually hit the ground running, it wouldn’t have ended up memed to no end as Skyrim in space. There’s nothing new or interesting here, it’s a copy and paste of like their last 6 games.
ОтветитьNo it deserves every single negative review it's not a pile on. The game is trash.
ОтветитьFrom a purely technical standpoint, it is a marvel that the game even works on the creation engine.
I know that it is fun to shit on the game because "Bethesda bad," but from a graphical standpoint, so graphics only, the game doesn't look bad. Quite the opposite. The game looks really good. I have seen some truly beautiful screenshots and videos showing off the graphics and it at times looks closer to what we'd see from games who only push graphics
Thank you for such an in-depth review. I agree with everything.
ОтветитьI keep forgetting this game exists
ОтветитьEasy, its because it is so much like Daggerfall. When Daggerfall came out, it got the same shit flinged at it as Starfield. And it wasn't until recently that brain dead gamers realized that holy shit, Daggerfall is superior to Morrowind. The same shit is going to happen to Starfield, in years to come people will realize how good it actually is, and will try to to change the narrative around it, to make it seem it was always loved.
Gamers say that older games were better, but when given an older game with updated graphics, the shit themselves and call said game shit.
boring game, boring characters. It's not bad, it's worse, it's boring.
ОтветитьLove the game myself
ОтветитьThis game is trash in every way you can think of. The game design and 'pretend' content is the problem. Bugs and gliches are nothing.. you can patch those out. The fact that its a bad game is no big deal; you cant win them all. The strange thing though is people not being able to point out the obvious crap that it is. Is that you just dont like hurting peoples feelings?
ОтветитьLoadingfield, I cannot imagine playing this on a HDD. :P
ОтветитьBethesda has been trimming the fat to widen their appeal for 20 years and they ended up not appealing to everyone anymore. Too many gameplay systems could be cut from the game completely without anyone noticing, and they did random generation better decades ago with Daggerfall. Hitting the same prefab twice in 20 hours instantly killed any drive I had to continue playing. I hope, but seriously doubt, they can fix the game up with patches and expansions. I feel like I need more and more mods to make Bethesda's games a great experience, but I'm not really sure what modders can even do for this to fix it.
Speaking of fixing games... I really enjoyed Cyberpunk 2.0 after being so put off of Starfield, I recommend trying that out. Especially with the most recent updates fixing two of my biggest issues with the game (some of the bosses were pushovers and there was no diagetic fast travel) I'm tempted to go back and do another playthrough.
typo in description of the timecode for section 5
ОтветитьBlizzard: Do you guys not have phones?
Bethesda: NO...
- Dumb and Dumber
Yoooo we got gamers watching Jessie Gender let’s go
ОтветитьIt is NOT what he said it was. He is a liar. The game is broken and repetitive.
Ответитьon skill points, one of the first mosd I installed gave me 3 skill points a level, so much better, makes it feel more like your going to reach playable status before you beat the game.
Ответитьfor petes sake it wasn't piling on, look when it went negative, a month after steam black friday sales when people that arn't super into or drank the bethesda koolaid would buy the game, so you have all the people that are more likely to be critical if it's bad buying it and not liking.
ОтветитьStarfield is an inferior no man's sky!
ОтветитьI’m also an astronomy herd, TNG nerd, Space Shuttle nerd… I was very excited about the hard science sci-fI. Then… the space magic happened. And, it felt completely pointless and silly. It was wildly disappointing. “Starborn”- groan.
ОтветитьCoz it's sh!t?
ОтветитьMost boring exploration for me out of any Bethesda game sadly
ОтветитьIt's wild the game got anything above a 5/10 from any reviewer.
ОтветитьNice video thank you. One thing though, starfield is absolutely mostly negative review wise. The reason why is that it is definitely not a 5 out of 10 or above it is mostly below A5 below average thus the reviews are correct. It's sad but not surprising considering the agenda that Bethesda had and considering the very bad design decisions made throughout the game development cycles.
ОтветитьBecause the game is so damn boring. I had more fun watching paint dry.
ОтветитьI love science fiction as much as anyone else but you do know that space doesn’t actually exist…right? 😂
ОтветитьIt's dogdirt
ОтветитьHeh that's cool.
ОтветитьThis game cured me of being a Bethesda fanboy. After the F76 debacle, I thought they'd really step it up and show us how they are still the best at single-player RPG with great exploration and interesting characters. After a few hours I felt punked by how completely god-awful this disjointed, shitshow of a game they phoned in is.
ОтветитьI think its quite simple. The reason I dont like it is because its a stinky turd of a game. :)
ОтветитьSame.
Had fun.
And now I am done with it.
No reason to install it again.
Dunno if that's good or bad.
It needs more negative reviews
ОтветитьThe FONV metacritic thing was a bonus, offered by Bethesda as an extra. It had nothing to do with royalties and Obsidian didn't get screwed on payment. Chris Avellone already debunked this in '21. I don't see the point of mentioning it in relation to Starfield.
ОтветитьYour channel name is so fitting here. Jast take my like already
ОтветитьI believe it was the creator Private Sessions or Patrician TV who pointed out that Starfield, despite what Bethesda labeled it, isn't really anything -Punk. Punk as an affix relates to the sense of rebellion, spitting in the face of conformity, being loud and abrasive so you can't be ignored. It's a musical style, which is not represented in Starfield. And I thought, "Well, maybe the proper term would be NASAcore," but no, calling something -core means that it doubles or triples down on it, the peak of adoration or admiration for a thing, to emphasize the unique aspects of it. But it doesn't emphasize the procedural science of space, or the function over form aesthetics of NASA. No, it's just NASA Themed. It's got the basic, bland aesthetics without much depth or conviction, with a pastiche of other genre staples for a space game. Which is a real shame, they could've gone in a lot of directions, they seem to have taken the safest but least interesting one.
ОтветитьI recently played Skyrim and all its DLCs for trophies/achievements. The problem with the writing is that you are God. You can be a cannibal vampire/werewolf, mage wielding a great sword and join all guilds in one character. Oh, yeah, and tame dragons.
It dampens the excitement of conquering since you're there to solve everybodys problems and save the world.
Thanks for the solid review. Have you played Cyberpunk? I’m interested in your thoughts on it. Unrelated to starfield more of a standalone review of the CP2077. Just a humble request from a new subscriber!
ОтветитьA better title would be "How can anybody like Starfield?"
Mostly negative is undeserved? I'm sorry, did you even play the game? The shooting is mid at best. The story is awful. The loading screens put 2006 to shame. Starfield in 2023 has ZERO redeeming qualities. None.
At this point I think that most of the "criticism" Bethesda gets isn't really criticism, but people who just want to shit on Bethesda because that's the cool thing to do for them, and I bet a lot of the people who "criticise" Bethesda either don't play the games, and act like they what they're talking about so they can critise Bethesda for the sake of criticising Bethesda, buy the games play a few minutes to a couple of hours, and think because the spent money on Bethesda they have the right to criticise with a lack on knowledge on what they are criticising Bethesda for, or play the game for a few good hours (12h or more), and are so into "Bethesda bad" that they don't enjoy the games and criticise Bethesda for not giving them what they wanted, because they can't enjoy a Bethesda game without being "Bethesda bad".
Key word *most of*, I know not all criticism on Bethesda is like I described, nor do I think Bethesda doesn't deserve any criticism, but a lot of the criticism I find fall into one of the three types of criticism I described, there's a 4th type of criticism I find, but this one hasn't gotten into Starfield yet, I'm waiting to see a long it'll take for people to start using it
Usally a game is bad, mediocre, great or amazing. But this game is so unbelivable BORING. Thats my score.
ОтветитьCan we please stop pretending that bethesda is still making rpgs? The last RPG deserving of the name they made was Morrowind, even that was a step down form Daggerfall. Bethesda makes clunky action games where you wildly flail pool noodles at oppnonens and glorified shooters with less rpg mechanics than modern Assassin's creed brings to the table.
ОтветитьI've been grinding Starfield for the past month, ~7h/d. I'm at over 250h and I'm luke warm on the game. Even outside of all the game crushes and gamebreaking bugs, it's still a super meh game with a few good quests and a few tiny connections between those quests (my favorite so far is the Space Frog mentions on all the other planets outside Mars).
I played it w/o any companions, and I wish I could've played it w/o being a Constallation member, and I'm not planning on playing NG+, cause I see 0 point in that. And as soon as I got a companion to get the achievement related to them - Sarah fucking died and my relationship progress got reset.
The only other Bethesda game I've played is Fallout 3 and I definitely liked that game waaaay more than Starfield. I've also played companionless Outer Wilds and I'd personally say that it's marginally better than Starfield for me. Though that was on release of the game, so maybe I should refresh it in my memory.
Overall I don't regret playing Starfield, simply because I like grindy games and I've spent ~70h just grinding lvls by crafting Adaptive Frames
I can definitely say though that this game is unplayable for me w/o a 20k weight limit mod (literally the first mod I installed after playing for a few hours) and w/o "traders have $8kk" and "waiting has 4h/s speed", because any of those things are absolutely pointless to limit imo.
I'll never buy starfield for only 1 reason. I use to play skyrim and a shit ton of other title single player games yet once I followed the rabbit into Online MMO's I refuse to turn back so I can't go from playing Minecraft,Anthem,Destiny2,Warframe,ESO,FO76 to any single player games ever again.
ОтветитьAnd somehow face mockup are kinda downgrade from fallout 4
ОтветитьThe writing and quest design in starfield are some of the most uninspired and boring iv ever seen . I have 100s of hours in the fallout universe granted a lot of those hours are with mods . 50 hours is all I could stand of starfield
ОтветитьWhy would you highlight that Hello games got death threats? That is just disingenuous and I will not watch anymore of your content!
ОтветитьNASA-Punk? No BADthesda, this looks like you raided the NASA-Museum and the one of Roskosmos (and maybe the Chinese Space Museum, too!)
Ответить
