Yelstin allowed all the oligarchs to steal the countries natural resources and his daughter bought a house in VilleFranche on the French Riviera worth millions within a short time of Yeltsin having removed Gorbachev and come to power. The way Yeltsin responded abruptly to the question "would you fire Ligachev from the party?" with a " da" suggests a capacity to dispose of anybody getting in his way. Before Gorbachev introduced perestroika how vocal was Yeltsin in talking about reforming the USSR. He was a corrupt opportunist who manipulated Gorbachev who was also extraordinarily naive and failed to stand up to a bully like Yeltsin. Interviewer is poor. Why would he not interview a russian politician in Russian , So many leading questions suggesting his desired answer.
