For some info, the thing you say after Anne says “confess” is actually Latin for “my fault Anne”, since Anne de Chantraine was a 17 year old woman who was wrongfully accused of being a witch and was burned at the stake. And yes I had to Google translate that into latin

Like; the timer not pausing while the hosts are on the screen, has to be one of, if not, the most infuriating parts.
Especially here where, props to her acting, she is eating the fucking scenery.
She is turning into a literal screen hog.
Gatekeepers starring contest is one thing, but dragging out her interruptions for grunts and squeals is just, evil design.

The game's "we recognize that Anne de Chantraine was a real person who was wrongfully accused and horribly murdered, but in our narrative she's an actual evil witch and they were right to burn her alive" take is bit of a weird one to me.

Like in the previous ones, the actor really commits. Which is always fun.

So, a young woman was killed because she was suspected of being a witch, and then returns later to take her misdirected revenge on anyone who plays a certain videotape...

Let's just check the wiki... Published in 1993. Does that technically make this the first adaptation of the novel Ring? The first Japanese TV version didn't come out for another two years.

If they were still playing about two mins after they paused the video, they might have lost as Anne does this bullshit move of taking all of the winning persons keys for no reason. Got very lucky as got me a few times

If there was a revision of the original nightmare game, there should be a split screen/fade over with the timer and the face thing when the host comes on the screen and not have any time cards.

Lmaooo,these guys are so fun to watch an their so hillarous when the witch pops out an says SILENCEEEE! They all get scared or make a facial expression of being caught off guard,lol.

I hope the prices of Nightmare 2&3 were augmented to be lower than the cost of the first given that it needs the resources of the first game. As has been pointed out, 2&3 are more like expansions than games in their own right.

Lmao I never seriously laughed so much,oh I remember 5his game but we played this in the game in the dark an we were scared but these guys ruin the moment but it's funny, lol.

I know it's a bit late now but the "only time will tell in less than ten" refers to a set of set time cards that activate within ten seconds of her making that announcement.

Reminds me of when I used to play it with friends as a teenager in the 90's. I still have them all in my cupboard. Loved the Atmosfear games. Apart from the Soul Rangers one. The video was just dreadful for it. Couldn't understand what that Mastiff dude was jabbering on about.

Trivia: "Mea Culpa, Anne" translates to "My fault, Anne".

I noticed the flames on the time screen get larger as the game goes on; nice touch.

I managed to watch around 12 minutes, but got fed up when one of the guys literally couldn't read 'Baron Samedi'.

Around the 30 minute mark, I realized the reason that Anne keeps delaying her words by long periods of time, is because we're watching her burn alive, the delay is from her is from the pain from inhaling hot air. Part 2: at the end, the reason she's discolored and slimy, is because of side-effects of being burned... this is again a random police drama trivia I know...

With time cards, we used to focus on the time presented and read it as the time hit mostly.

I get it, she gives lots of keys early on so that she can lull you into a sense of security and then starts hitting all these things where "if they have 6 keys" or "if anyone is on the inner trail" events.

This was more sexual than I was expecting a kids game to be.

goddamn this anne lady is a rough listen... the baron wasn't always clear, but at least he was quick, not painfully slow like this... makes for way worse watching. At least the players are still great...
