Slovenia, yes have been there twice, once on a day trip when I was staying in Rovinj and then 2 years later with my step son on the pushbike. Very nice enjoyed every minute had a hotel over Lake Bled and a bedroom looking over the lake, couldn't have asked for better and the people are very friendly and will help you out at the drop of a hat, think it helps if you are British as we were very close with the former Jugoslavia and Tito in the second world war.

I like to believe our beloved Slovenia is a land of Hobits. People seam closed of, but once you get to know them you understand they are good harted people, but also hard working and cautious. Slovenians love their forest, mountains, hills and of course everyone has their garden. Its a small and often overlooked world Oasis as one Arab prince called it.

I like how you stayed positive after the hotel mistake and the weather and still enjoyed the trip. But Slovenia is not beautiful just on the west end, it has beautiful spots all around.

You guys were lucky to get on that gondola on Kanin mountain because they closed it later last year and now it's permanently closed. Also the bus never showing up is so typical, happens way too often here, but I'm really glad you had so much fun.

Oh snap, another (stereo)typical lake Bled and Soča trip. Slovenia is much more than that. Anyway, be mindful of who organises and leads your Soča rafting or canyoning adventure. There are tourist deaths every year. Soča is beautiful but treacherous.
