Best concert I ever attended was James Taylor at Southern Illinois University in 1973. Full arena and you could hear a pin drop. His songs are such strong stories.

Excellent balladeer and composer. His music along with that of Carole King, Carpenters and others, inspired my musical tastes in the 70's when I was 17 years old. Now 70 years old, they still remind me of my values from those wonderful years. Thank you for your incomparable legacy.

I went to a James Taylor concert at Arcosanti. It was outside, a wonderful night until three cowboys started shooting their rifles into the audience.

When I was in high school, I wrote “slowly passing sailing ships” in the upper right corner of every single one of my books and papers.

I learned every James Taylor song I heard. I couldn't play them at the clubs and bars around time --- they were too personal to me, besides, a set of JT's and my face would be wet. I played them only for my Lady and my kids, the only people on Earth I wanted to see that deep into my heart.

SOULFUL SINGING. PLAINTIFF VOICE. AND MEANINGFUL (USEFUL) LYRICS. EXAMPLE SHOWER THE PEOPLE. I know that the line "holy host of others" is a reference to the Beatles. Maybe its just me...but ive gotten far more catharsis from JT than from the Beatles.
