This is exactly the video I was looking for. Thank you for all this valuable information. I have been journaling for a long time. Now I am using my own ephemera that I have collected throughout the years and also using crayons and markers; glue, washi tapes; distress ink more recently, really very basic stuff. I am more inclined to use water colors but I am not sure jut yet. Also thank you for taking about giving credit to the people - more like artist I must say - that inspire us. That is very nice of you. Keep the videos coming !! :)

what is the difference between Gesso, modeling paste, and chalk paint?

I have just started my journey and bought all sorts of things, I will have to look into gesso and modelling paste etc Thank you for this video

What are the different effects created by using white gesso, black gesso, clear gesso and heavy gesso? What do they all have in common with each other and what makes them different from each other?

Also, am I understanding correctly that gesso is used as both a glue AND a primer at the same time? And you use it to allow your different mediums to blend together?

This is by far the best video for understanding the beginning basics needed for mixed media! I have been intimidated and confused with what to buy and why but now I'm more confident because you explained it very well. Thank you so much!
