Does the map portion come into play if you haven't clicked in the little box .. for example you entered place of marriage and there is a box that says show map on Life story.

I recently purchased pro tools and the new thing I learned was the ability to expand the fan chart to 7 generations (and the other features of the fan chart).
My wish list would be to be able to expand DNA matches to 7 generations as well.

Tree checker has to be the best. Too often you can miss dup people and conflicting facts. Like adding a death or birth date may throw doubt on some of their children.

Okay, I could see where it might be worth paying for the tools but I don't get charging to have more generations on a fan charge or to tell you which ancestor has more pictures than others and which ancestors have more hints than others because I can pretty much get that part of it for free on family search. I can also get a family group chart with sources along with a pedigree chart, I do think it's cool though that they have other reports that family search does not offer. I am however waiting for them to add something really big that will make me want to buy pro tools. I keep hoping that maybe they've added something I will say Wow to but not yet. Maybe one day. Although it was good to learn about it, so if they do eventually add something great, I'll know how to use it.

I have been a long time user of FTM and their tools - so I rejoi😊ce that prot tools is adding those features plus even more! This video is a great review of some of these tools but each needs more study and practice to more fully understand their application and power. I look forward to more of your wonderful video tutorials! Thanks so much for all you do for us!❤❤

Since race plays a such huge factor in wading through tons of data can someone please explain why race is still Not a basic category when searching?

While it sucks that this world prides its self on race division, especially in documentation, I'm surprised the race space isn't right after name...

So why now would it not be used when searching for family?

While most highly melanated people carry the name of previous slave owners, knowing the race is more connecting to areas where plantation owner "Did Business"

During those times, people of same families were sold away to neighboring owners or in cases shipped away, but like that of cattle, where their was branding, there was that or the enslaved names were changed making the now search even more complicated.

Using a race categories assists in the weeding through the data process and helps in avoiding the unnecessary need to get your hopes up to a match to end fruitlessly....

Heck! This very small move can be a step in standing out from the other companies.. just say'n

Eventually, the obvious South East will be truly identified for what it is (highly melanated Indigenous peoples roots), with earlier and later out of Africa mixture...

(Like that of Spain and Mexico, Cuba, and Dominican Republic)
and properly categorized our indigenous roots for what it is and put us back on the map as the peoples of that area given our proper indigenous titles back.

At the end of the day however, the ancestors are awakening us to these facts as we speak.

Thanks for all you do though...

Every single video is appreciated ❤❤❤❤

Just watched this video regarding Pro Tools and a little bit disappointed as I was hoping this would help me with a large problem. My Dad doesn't know who his real Dad is. However his DNA test has lots of DNA hits on his paternal side. But none of them have created trees. And none of them are responding to messages I am sending out to the matches asking for more information. He also has 1st and 2nd cousin DNA hits on his paternal side. But I have no means to link them to my tree through my dad. I have tried to make new trees from those individuals, but without their details. I am hitting brick wall after brick wall. It would be great if AI could be used to great a virtual tree via thrulines of my Dad's DNA paternal matches and place where his matches could be based on the DNA algorithms.

Something I have been wishing for, is the relationship of "enslaved" to another person. Hear me out...when I run across an enslaved person in wills and add them as floating, the search by their descendant would be daunting, although time and location would help. I think having the relationship of slave owners to enslaved would be important to others searching for their enslaved ancestor. Am I wrong here? I really want to show that connection, to help others in their search.

I noticed your tag "Royalty/Nobility". I have a tag called "Notable" for those folks who were in politics, wrote a book, was an artist, etc, (one who murdered someone) so that they can be found easily. I also have a tag for unusual deaths. I had a lot of folks killed by railway accidents, so that is one that I created. Morbid, I know, but still of interest.

I subscribed to Pro Tools, using it mostly to clean up my tree, no relationships and doubles. The reports are very interesting and I'm now seeing some of the end of line people who aren't connected. I started with 55,000 people (2 of us trying to figure out a few mysteries, and I wanted to clean it up and start fresh. Down to 26,000. I'm using Pro tools mainly to delete people, but sure can't figure out how it works because the "no relationship" list does NOT show all that have no relationhips. I'd like to know how it is designed to work, like what has to happen for those N/R people to be on that list. Thank you
