Google Pixel 8 Pro 3 Months Later: Gets Better Over Time (Long-term Review)

We hope Google will matte everything in the next pixel 9 pro.

I'm starting to think the only reason the iPhone and the Samsung gets an hour more battery life than the pixel is because Google allows the pixel to just run at Max. You can clearly see the iPhone and the Samsung cutting software features down or completely off just to keep the game running. Whereas on the pixel It's just running the game how it should be. So in all actuality iPhones or Samsungs don't have better battery life than pixels. Google just has better thermal management. Which means the processor runs at a much more consistent high frame which artificially lowers battery life. But I will still take the lower battery life to have a phone that runs how a phone should. Take that apple and Samsung nights!

Astrophotography mode : my 6A does not kick in astrophotography mode and you need to review that mode ..like letting know google, to increase time lapse mode in astrophotography mode to 5 seconds or unlimited time lapse

Looks good. It really does. Won't make me switch to Pixel just yet but it's becoming a serious contender.

I had a Pixel 8 (non pro) up until last week and the scrolling stutter was horrible. Something is wrong with the software (possibly hardware?) on the Pixel 8 my new s23 doesn't have stutter it's very smooth.

Which country are you based in? Coz Pixels haven't been approved for 5G in UAE as well as most countries here in Africa that have commercial 5g networks. I currently have a Pixel 6a and it's not yet approved for 5G here in Uganda yet i have a Redmi Note 10 5G and it's able to access 5G here in Uganda and Kenya

Pixel 8 Pro works great as long as you don't want to connect to a car using android auto. This has been a known google since the release of the Pixel 8 Pro. As of the January 2024 software release, it has not been fixed. But Google had time to fix a wallpaper issue. Not sure who is prioritizing issue at Google.

Kindly use some human face as your channels profile picture.

They are terrible phones. You can tell they are cheap. If you tap the middle of the screen with your finger nail, you will notice it sounds empty underneath and the software updates take forever. The 5g antenna and simcard tray are made out of plastic.oh and the battery sux.

...A very down to earth quality review. Went from my almost 6 year old Huawei to this phone. So impressed with that p20p. Hope the pixel can serve me as long and well as the p20p 🤳

Can you do videos with gaming and high tech phones (like Redmagic, Rog phone or even the Xperia) vs the flagships phones in the channel (Iphone 15 pro max, S23 ultra and Google Pixel).
I'm curious about the heavy workload battle between these phones.

I had trauma with pixel phones especially with 7pro
I swap my iPhone 14 pro max with it and after 1 week BIG regret and now i chose iPhone 15 pro max over this phone

I'm not sure how the words "Camera experience" can be used when so much happens on a server thousands of miles away.

These camera features are gimmicks they take a good while to complete and most results come out bad. Anything that can not be completed by the phone itself is a gimmick.

I'm obsessed with my pixel 8 pro and agree with your points. I'll never get an iphone again.

Great screen, Battery life is full day capable.

If you are thinking about buying this phone and wear your phone in your backpocket often, consider that the camera bar will catch onto the fabric of your pocket a lot. I had to learn the hard way, after I thought I put it in my pocket and let go and the phone fell on the ground. :')
