So which DVDs do we buy that has the original Funi dub broadcast we grew up with? Looking to buy that version now.

Actually the score was just reverted. All of Evan Jone's customizations in ProTools (dialog FX, music edits, etc) were lost when they when to a new release. A lot of these music "changes" are actually the way the original score was shipped from Cakemix\Faulconer Productions to Funimation. The version aired was the altered one!

Wow, I forgot that was FUNimation’s first work on Dragon Ball. Hearing Alec Willows and Saffron Henderson was a trip.

Did they alter that one Yamcha flashback to Goku and Oolong to hide the fact that the original airing had audio from the old BLT dub? Like, listen to the original clip in this short and tell me that’s not Ocean Oolong and Ocean Gohan/kid Goku.

My copy has the 2nd one. I actually think I have heard both, but I only remember the 2nd.

Hearing it in English was so wild. I personally love the Spanish (Latino) dub as they seem to have kept most of the OG soundtrack.

Faulconer score was straight ass idgaf what anyone says. I grew up with it too and not nostalgic for it whatsoever. The OG OST was the best at hit the right flavor for the show and it was so stupid to take it out for corny sci-fi synth sounds

In the German version, this scene has the music of the Buu Saga Genkidama Themen playing in the background and it is really fitting
