Eileen Atkins is and Queen Mary was masterful, and an entire dignified era died with Queen Mary.

Seasons 1 - 3 of this show were fantastic.

I loved Queen Mary in this series.. she always had great advice for Elizabeth, and it seemed to have a lasting affect throughout the years.

It's a great scene absolutely, but honestly, what a load of BS.

If monarchy is God's way to dignify the Earth, then why is it monarchy that keeps people down, stuck in their wretched lives unable to break free and strive for more or better. It's also ridiculous that she simply dismisses Philip's ideas because he comes from a royal line that goes back 90 years as opposed to one that goes back hundreds of years. What difference does that make to the actual question? None whatsoever. Next question indeed.

The only legitimate purpose I can see for the British monarchy is in potentially ensuring some semblance of consistency for the duration of a monarch's reign. Being guided by one leader over a lifetime may help to avoid those traps that are inherent in a democratic political system where politicians come and go in very short terms, thus never truly able to accomplish great things. The problem then comes back to the fact that the monarch is essentially powerless. The only real power is in advising through weekly consultations.

You can hear the transition of their accents from the old world and in Elizabeth's time. The difference in their accents.

I love how you can hear the crackling of each drag off the cigarette. It adds to the crispness of the scene and the fact that she can smoke in bed if she wants. She is still a royal. Excellent writing and acting. I can almost smell that cigarette.

I dare to call this scene perfect: due to the fact there is no other way to describe it. Excellent, writing, directing and ofcourse genius acting by both amazing artists. Which does include the nurse/sister.

I staunchly believe that assuming the role of a monarch is a divine calling, aiming to dignify the Earth, echoing the sentiments of the late Queen Mary to her late Majesty, Elizabeth II. A genuine king or queen answers to God, not merely the public, as divine guidance steers them toward actions that benefit the people. While this scenario may be dramatized, I wholeheartedly endorse the ideals of theocracy.

Acknowledging historical instances of less-than-ideal sovereigns in England, the present monarch, King Charles III, exceeds my expectations. He is my king, and I recognize no prerogative to question His Majesty. His representation of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland surpasses my initial expectations.

And this why monarchy is no good. People should be represented by leaders that serve them.

I loved the earlier seasons when "The Crown" actually used to openly and blatantly endorse monarchy as opposed to later seasons which are little more than poorly disguised republican propaganda

The title of this video exposes the scam..... no body really thinks God came and chose any King or Queen in person now do they... So how the scam works is you coerce people into going to church, singing hymns, or praying... Once they do that even if still sceptical about the existence of God. You can make the claim; chosen by God, carrying out the will of God or even God is on our side... and for anyone to challenge your claim, first of all they would have a hard time proving otherwise...but if they did challenge your claim they would be putting at risk they own imaginary relationship they have with the imaginary God thing...and that is like proving to yourtself your gullible and have been made a fool of ..... the outcome being your in a situation in which you will lay down your own life for the objectives of others..... Having people ready to die for your needs is worth far more than money in the right hands....but does not alter the fact you were sold one thing and actually bought something else...which us a scam.
The moment any royal had a blood transfusion the whole load of clap trap about royal blood lines was past its use by date, and that should have been the end of it... !

Queen Mary was correct! Despite everything that many believe nowadays, the Monarchy has a sacred and infallible duty coupled with its position. The current structure of it may be recent but its antecendents have brought great examples to uphold. From its very crest to the obligations it fulfills, it brings a constant that is so important that it becomes the source of eternal governance and all its like.
