Ending had to be changed cuz the episode 1 dream Eren has never happened in the whole story.

My problems with the ending were the changing of Eren’s motives it felt like a cop out to make him feel redeemable,secondly that fucking word spine monster that fought Reiner was so stupid and added literally nothing to the finale

Really ending is not happy? This whole plot armor in the last battle reminded me why GoT was also f*cking trash. This anime aspired to be something better than generic shounen with the power of friendship and lots of fanservice but at the end it is the f*cking shounen with the power of friendship and a big amount of fanservice.

When you take the very ending into account at the credit scenes. Technically they set up a story about how ymir came to be with her power, except set in a post apolocalyptic futuristic world set within the same universe. even if our beloved characters have been dead for hundreds oreven thousands of years.

We watched them concludes ymirs wrath, now we might get a story how it came to be, just in a different time with different characters as the circle of life goes round and round, repeating itself.

I think a lot of people gave the ending crap because they thought it was going to be a black and white ending. Either they make it cop out and make it a super mega happy ending (which you’re right Charlie, it would’ve ruined AOT) or it would be a doom and gloom ending where no one survived and the world was destroyed. No body really thought that there could be an in between.
