Ironically (or not) I was in a super Irish pub in London. Was the only English fan in there obviously was respectful but was quietly jubilant.

At the end they all came over to me and said we knew you were English. I thought I hid it well.

As an Irishman I have to say I did not expect that English backslash, wow what a performance from them , gutted we lost by single point but I cant deny then their glory. They were written off by everyone and they answered their critics. They spoiled our potential back to back grand slam which we will never recover from but alas. It was a boring tournament until now

Now you know what is required to beat Ireland......................the only problem is (and no disrespect intended) you have to play like that CONSISTENTLY and that is the word ..... Consistency (which you have not done over the past 2-3 years).

Ireland just can't seem to make correct critical decisions when it really counts, why didn't they hang onto the ball for the last 2 minutes and pick n go instead of just handing the ball back to England , but still an exciting game where England deserved it

I'm an Ireland fan. England were brilliant. The better side on the day, for all 80. Ireland played very well, but too many penalties and lineout problems. Well played though lads. Regroup. All in all a fantastic match to behold.

As much as it saddens me, England 100% deserved the win, We’re not as good as we’ve been thinking and it was obvious since WC pool matches. We’ve a top class attack, but once scrum and line out creak we’re vulnerable to aggressive defence and attack. Well done england
