Exploring Seceda | Ortisei in Val Gardena | South Tyrol, Italy

The Seceda is a 2519m high mountain at the foot of the Odle group, placed in Val Gardena, above the inhabited Ortisei. It's summit can be reached via a cable car from the town center.

The easiest way to reach the summit of Seceda is via the ski lift that starts from Santa Cristina Valgardena and reaches Col Raiser or the one that starts from Ortisei and reaches the top directly.

However, the summit can also be reached on foot starting from the south from Ortisei, Santa Cristina or Selva di Val Gardena or from the north from the municipality of Funes . Starting from Selva you can follow path 3 from Daunei to the Firenze refuge and then continue towards Pietralongia and finally climb to the top of Mount Seceda.

From the Seceda summit you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Dolomites and of all the mountains in South Tyrol. Every single hut on Seceda has its very special charm and boasts a really distinctive atmosphere. An original wooden bench, a comfortable deck chair, a sunbathing terrace or a cosy "stube" - Seceda offers something for everyone. Skiers, snowboarders, hikers, paragliders but also families with children...
