I have skinned every deer I've ever shot with the Sharpfinger that I bought around 1989. Your comment about the trailing point wanting to nick the stomach is spot on--I nicked the stomach of the deer I gutted just last week, as I was unzipping the belly skin. I just hate to pack another knife out into the field with me. It would feel like two-timing on my Sharpfinger! Thanks for the video.

I bought my U.S.A. made sharpfinger in a pawn shop for $4.00 . It was right before they moved all the production to China . I've had a lot of people try to buy it from me but for what they've offered and it's been quite a bit no other knife even comes close .

If one finds themselves in a situation where they need a knife to defend themselves in the 21st Century they have made so many mistakes up to that point in time it is doubtful they are skilled or smart enough to use it effectively.
As a hunting/fishing/camping/every day carry knife it is extremely useful. It will excel at most realistic everyday cutting tasks.

I baught 1 and it did better than I thaught it would've. I made a few figure 4 dead falls and a bow n drill. I agree it's worth what I paid for it. It'll probably be put in my tacklebox for cleaning fish and cutting up bait. It definitely has a place for use and collecting. I haven't tried to sharpen it yet. I'll wait till I'm bored and raining. It wouldn't be a very good survival knife. Anyway thanks for sharing and God bless 🇺🇸

I've never owned a Sharp Finger , sometime around 1982-84 , I ordered a year long subscription to Petersen's Hunting magazine , and got a Schrade Drop Finger as a gift . Sadly , they were not the best design ever made . Great for gutting , but crap for everything else .
I still have it , but I only carried it that one hunting season .

An excellent review, very concise. Not many review go into self-protection aspect. And those individuals regardless of what they may think of them shut down what they were talking about. This is the most complete review I've seen because most leave self defense aspect out. I like that you included the con to that point on the tip as well. Like I said concise you cover more than most people cover in there longer reviews. I have had mine since the late 70s or early 80s the recently bought one of the new ones. They are sharp and they are pointy but they're not quite what the old ones were.

I have been listening to this NONSENSE of "Quality taking a dive, when they moved to China" for over 20 years now. I have YET to see any of you loudmouth Taiwan HATERS actually EVER proof it with ANY kind of actual facts NOT pulled out of your asses.

In virtually EVERY case, Either you were NOT Alive in 1974 to actually SEE what a rusty pile of GARBAGE the original sharpfinger actually was, Or you simply Grew up watching your wife beating, beer swilling fathers grumbling about how they got fired when their factory was closed and moved to Taiwan.

OH - and BTW - You SPEWED out China, but you ACTUALLY meant to say Taiwan. You would probably have known the difference, IF you had actually attended 6th Grade. EVERY Knife maker that MOVED Production to Taiwan in the late 70's and on, Because of Energy Crisis, WAY Overpriced Labor, and Government OVER-Taxation, WITHOUT Exception - Not only moved in American Factory Machinery, But ALSO Shipped in European and American Materials! You IGNORANT MORON.

SO! Lets see you explain how it makes ANY Kind of Difference if an OLD CHINESE Woman is Stuffing a cardboard Box, or if it's an OLD American/Mexican (Yeah, Genius - MOST are actually Illegal Mexicans) Stuffing the EXACT SAME Cardboard Box?

All you FAKE Racist Shit-Slingers all say the exact same BULLSHIT - Straight Out your Lily Livered Asses...
Put Up or SHUT-UP You tweezer ass moron!

You just LOVE to WHINE About some FANTASIZED Loss of Quality, and YET WHINE like little Girls IF it COSTS TOO Much!
Guess What Twit! When American Workers make it - It Costs More than you Beer Swilling Hog Squealers can Afford!

Had many over the years. Last one I dropped and the handle emblem popped out. The old ones wouldn't have done that. I carry a couple knives for protection along w mace and a firearm. The sharp finger is quick and easy to use w practice. If we were 5 or 6 feet apart the advantage is mine. Rather buy American but the Chinese version is just fine as a streetfighting knife and a skinner. Intimidating........ Especially for a smaller knife. I pulled one on a group that was about to rob us and probably rape her. I pulled my mace w my left and sharp finger w my right. Gave em all a sample blast w the mace and slashed one guy w the sharp finger. No cops, and I càrried a gun everyday after that. But still carry the mace as well as my sharp finger or something similar

I have the one ive had it in a box for years, has the original sheath, seems mint and the knife looks barely used if at all. it was with a bunch of knives my grandpa had and i finally took it out bc it seemed like a solid knife and started researching it. Seems like a solid find
