How come the tope hang around in north wales in winter time? Thought they all migrated further south.

I've been fishing all my life and watching your recent vids have inspired my to buy aged 43 my first serious saltwater kit. I'm from usually stick to Freshwater lure fishing. I've used that kit to catch a lot of mackerel, gar and very occasional bass all over Anglesea and llyn peninsula. Have 10 days booked in a van end of July. Would these big bait tactics work at that time of the year? I'm guessing where you find mackerel shoals you'll find things eating them??
