Wow, so glad I found this channel, fantastic work, need to play catch up on your other videos now 🎉
ОтветитьI'ts so interesting! And beautiful.
ОтветитьHi Marianne, wonderful painting and sketchbook spread. The video is also excellent, thanks so much for producing it. A question for you, if I may. How long do you have to leave the spread open to dry, before you can close the book without the pages sticking together?
ОтветитьI love how candid you are. You make art less intimidating and as a learning process rather than perfection
ОтветитьThank you so much for showing your unplanned mistakes. For me they will be a great help. I am about to tone the pages and feel better about doing this even if not perfect . All a learning process. Thank you so much for your inspiration yo start my own sketchbook.
Ответить❤❤So beautiful.. Informative and easy to follow n understand 😊 Thank you so much for sharing
ОтветитьWonderful. I loved watching the process.
ОтветитьFirst, let me say that seeing your transparency of making mistakes and then deciding to work out a solution publicly was VERY refreshing, especially for those of us perfectionists who have gone as far as to remove pages from sketchbooks for the silliest of errors. ...something I would later come to regret, as they often resulted in some of the best lessons learned, or even new techniques discovered that would later be used on purpose! So, kudos to you for your honesty in sharing the normalcy of all of our imperfections and not just get frustrated and 'doldrumy' about them, but rather face them, embrace them, and try to find a solution. Good on you!
Second, have you thought of doing Scottish thistles? Maybe in conjunction with Scottish heather? I think the strength of the lines of the thorns against the softness of the heather would make for a beautiful pairing!
Finally, I've been making acrylic "ink" by watering down my fluid paints (I have SO many and was trying to be frugal), but a bunch of my kids (who are coming for my birthday in another week) are actually getting me new art supplies... among them a set of Liquitex Transparent inks! YAY!

ОтветитьThis is beautiful and thank you so much for sharing the whole process - mistakes and all. Now, when I try it, I'm forwarned about some things to avoid. Very beautiful lighting and photography
ОтветитьThis is so cool.. thank you so much for sharing! It’s super inspirational and I can’t wait to try my own!! Hope you will show more spread creation in both your acrylic and oil sketchbooks 💜
ОтветитьThank you for this!!! I so appreciate your honesty and bravery (“let me show you my mistakes!”), your perseverance to get it to work, and to remember - it’s a sketchbook so experiment and have fun!!
ОтветитьIt’s so detailed and I feel confident to THINK about trying it 😅!
I’ve never wanted to give an artist my money so badly! Your sketchbooks are the ‘coffee table books’ I prefer. A book I would actually look at frequently just being absorbed in by the art!
So beautiful!!!! Even your ‘mistakes’ are GORGEOUS!
Great sketchbook idea! I say this as a admirer of the plant world. It looks like something I'd like to own, to make. Just like the work journal of some old research botanist.
Beautiful, as usual.
