A tip that a experienced gym goer once told me: "if your going to build a plan for yourself, make a plan that your laziest version will use to have no excuses and pressure when your going to do them".

ОтветитьI have always followed a split that goes: legs, chest and back, then shoulders and arms. I do it five days a week so whatever exercise I do on Wednesday will only be done once that week but then will be the Monday exercise. I feel like it’s worked for me and I’ve always preferred working out opposite body regions like chest and back cause it keeps my posture normal without my chest kinda pulling my shoulders forward cause of the pump.

ОтветитьMy program is actually quite massive, thing is i wanna hit that 12-16 sets per week for most of my muscles and oh boy my program is hugeee. But it does have good variety.
ОтветитьI have one question, I do PPL+Full arm day (plus including traps) and ive only got 4 days to train (from monday to friday) (wednesday i rest or core and a bit if cardio i dont know if thqs efficient and how to adapt workouts to get max gains, i thinks its good but i dont really know )

Legs and AB’s
Chest tris and side delts
Back and bis
Shoulders
Arms
Always done twice a week frequency, since switching to this I’m gettin best results I’ve ever had, 10-15 working sets a body part, high intensity most sets to failure or close enough. Plenty of time for body to recover
18 sets total for chest bur for other groups ?? Like triceps for example ??
ОтветитьWhat do you mean by : 12-18 reps for each body part, do you mean (let's say for Chest for example) that I need to distribute these sets on the three part of the chest, middle, upper and lower part of the chest, or should I do from 12-18 sets per week for each part of my chest ?

So like do you have one main lift for arms or main lift for each of the arm muscles?
How many of those sets are working sets ? How many are warm up sets ? And how many sets should i take to failure and how many should i train until 1 rep before failure?

In many exercises multiple muscles groups are involved, for example, in the benchpress the chest, shoulders and triceps are involved in the movement. If I count sets for all of these muscle groups in exercises like these, then I'll quickly end up with like 24 sets/week for all these bodyparts. But if I only count sets for the main target of the exercise, then I will end up with lots of exercises for a single day and the workout just gets too long.
Is there a way for how I should approach this correctly?

Why should I add more variations of exercises if after I don't know how to do them? Isn't better to stick to bench press/incline BP and cable flies?

ОтветитьSo far my rule of thumb has been to do the most compound exercises I can incorporate per split day and leave a couple isolation exercises as needed (e.g. calves on leg day, biceps on upper body day).
Gonna incorporate this info into my routine, as soon as far i’ve been lacking on some of the points mentioned

ОтветитьActually 5 split is the best at least if you are not a beginner anymore. Pretty simple because you can set a much higher muscle stimulus when you train each muscle for like an hour on a day
