Sorry to say but I genuinely think that Miyamoto has way too much control over Nintendo properties to the point of the projects detriment. His opinion that games shouldn’t have a story because it isn’t necessary is ridiculous. I’m not discrediting his impressive creations but nowadays I think he hurts Nintendo properties more than he helps them.

Oh. His dad was the friend-of-a-friend for the president of the company. That's how he was able to get the job.

Huh.

To be frank I think the failure of Pikmin, sunshine, and windwaker and the GameCube as a whole can largely jet be attributed to the fact it was just getting so outclasses by the PS2. The quality of the games has nothing to do with it, that's why all of these games are considered bangers today. It's just that Nintendo couldn't deal with the insane success of the PS2

Imagine that a lot of the superstars started their work as artists or writers...I think game companies shouldn't just limit people based on their qualifications and specialties and gave people different hats to try on.

It's no exaggeration to say we wouldn't HAVE the modern gaming industry without Shigeru Miyamoto. Not just all of Nintendo's beloved characters, but the idea of video games as a household medium flow directly from his work. The man is Walt Disney/Stan Lee-level influential.

I think what Miyamoto has done is invaluable to the direction of the industry and he truly has earned his reputation, but I think he's in a younger world that he doesn't want to adapt to and he should probably retire
