I am just admitted in a university in the USA and as an international student I wanted to know how people study nursing.
I am glad I watched this video before starting my Nursing.

That's exactly how my best friend in Nursing school takes notes. She's an A student. The top in the class. It's patience, hard work, and lots of time. Anyone can be like that. It just takes a VERY unique person to be so extensive, specific, and highly patient to master it and excel in that form of studying.... I absolutely cannot do that. All my notes are typed and screenshotted in my Microsoft OneNote heheheh.

patho was the HARDEST class I've taken. I'd take chemistry over patho. It's so much to memorize, bit if you do the work, you will pass!

This video really relieved me. I’m starting nursing school next semester as a transfer student and I’ve been stressing on how I should study for classes (esp. patho). The way you take your notes is similar to how I’m studying for my prerequisites for Micro, A&P I and II, etc. right now

I take what’s called “dummy notes” which are notes I take in class, and then rewrite them into another notebook which is organized better. Then I literally talk to myself, pretending I’m teaching the content to a group of students. (Luckily I haven’t developed schizo from this method loool)

Since I’ve graduated high school, I’ve always memorized. But I’m glad I took two years to do GE and prereqs to practice UNDERSTANDING content. Because eventually as a nurse we have to understand AND APPLY.
