bless you both for this video, thanks
ОтветитьYou guys are doing an awesome job with this channel and the content. I'm learning a lot. I bought myself an Elite compound bow and my son a Diamond Atomic compound. They're a lot of fun to shoot but I'm not getting into this to hunt and now I'm wishing we went with a recurve.
ОтветитьI've always been fascinated by archery, I like your wife, she seems lovely by the way, wish women were like her, she seems meticulous, thoughtful, and for me looking for my first bow, which for some reason amazon is out of stock on everything, which is worrying to me, I'm a bit of a conspiracy realist, and 'm wondering why you can't find a decent bows lately, , here in the UK we can't defend nor hunt like Americans, I'm from Wales and we were known for our power and still today accuracy in our targets, thank you for your videos, I guess I've got to watch all your videos, I wish I could just cut through all the confusion and shortfalls out there. the arrows are so expensive in some cases. I'm willing to put out the money if I know the bow is good quality, and I can upgrade as I get stronger, I work out especially my back muscles anyway, I've been looking at archery for years. and I finally was on my way to go even went to the club, then there was eternal quarrels In the club, then covid hit. so I want to start meeting people, and get out, archery for me is a must, thank you.
ОтветитьReally happy I found your channel.
Thank you both for the great content.
Awesome video, you and your wife helped a lot
ОтветитьYou're awesome brother
ОтветитьVery good video thank you.
ОтветитьSuperb presentation - thank you both!!
Ответитьim glad your wife is paying attention and saying what i was thinking haha
great videos thank you
You lost me with your definition of spine? My arrows are 1/2" diameter and 34" long. A 2lb weight probably wouldn't bend them at all. At one point you said the arrow would defect 2"? Does the draw weight make such a huge difference? My bow is only 80lb but nearly all my shoots are aimed up to hit. What is point zero?
ОтветитьHeather's right, why an arrow should bend at all is never properly explained. That's just one of a buck full of advisements that are mysterious.
ОтветитьWhat brand of bow does Heather use?
ОтветитьDon't let her read this, but the wife is right lol. Arrow numbers especially for me get very conflated very fast. Good to have you break them down further
ОтветитьReally loved this video with you both. I am a beginner and your wife asks questions I would ask. So I think having a beginner with you makes for a more informative video for me. So thank you and look forward to the rest of the videos in this series.
ОтветитьWhat are your thoughts on Linkboy arrows? I like them because they glide really easily.
ОтветитьI ordered a Black hunter recurve bow with a 30-pound pull weight; I received a 35 pound.' I use a 40-pound compound but found the 35 recurve to heavy so I re-orders a set of 25-pound limbs but received a set of longbow limbs. Australia, China I gave up. So, my questions are. Is the string for the compound the right length for the longbow? What is the length from the strig to the riser? And the arrows sent were for the original 35-pound compound bow and are 800 mm long carbon fiber.
Ответить🥰🥰🥰
ОтветитьYou better listen to your wife and stop jumping call over the board. Stay focused and quit being a pedantic.
ОтветитьVery good education Jake, and YES ! I like the fact that Heather is making you take the time to explain further for us beginners. Way to go Heather, keep him in line.
ОтветитьI don't see Jake responding to many questions here, and I have asked more than a few that are unanswered so far, but just in case someone else can chime in:
What weight of limbs did you get her before she even shot her first arrow with her new bow? My husband and I want to get into barebow and we are 3 hours away from any archery shop that is not a cabelas (not an archery shop, clearly haha). I wish we could have better direction, but lancaster chat box is as good as it gets for us. I know we have to start small, but I also don't want to impede any growth because I chose too light. My husband and I have short draw lengths (between 25.5 and 27" / me between 25.5 and 26, my husband between 26.5 and 27 - we hope to hone it down when we get better technique).
Second question is: before buying her a set that can help her grow, what was she shooting? I wonder if we just go with this video for our very first set (before we ever shoot), or if there is another recommended route before we get into making our own set.
Any insight is appreciated! Thank you!
Thank you Heather and Jake! I am a BEGINNER and I had the same questions as Heather. I turned to this channel after getting so lost on all the websites and types of bows/arrows it was becoming discouraging. Thanks for breaking it down for the newbies! ❤
ОтветитьThanks Heather for your great insight. It is my pet peeve with every single podcast. The assumption of knowledge on the part of the presenter loses so many new people because they do not understand the language.
ОтветитьIt’s great that your wife represents the “ have no clue” beginners that’s the exact spot I’m in .I had Lancaster recommend gear for bare bow but a uninformed decision is usually a bad one .. I’ve found your channel and never dreamed someone not only tells me exactly what I want to hear but he also has someone ( wife) backing him up and saying slow down speak English lol… definitely needs to be in more of your videos.. great videos and I’m amazed at what you’ve taught me over the course of two weeks..
ОтветитьI love this red pill relationship you both have there. This expert/nubbie lessons are awesine!!
ОтветитьLove your Video's but you really need to get some clip on Microphones... 🙂
ОтветитьWhat riser is Heather using? 🤩
ОтветитьGreat vid - I am going through exactly the same process with my wife, even the same shafts. As I have been out of archery myself for 10 years it is a great refresher and learning tool. Many thanks
ОтветитьHow do one keep the same anchor with barebow and can still have some
string crawl (not point on) aimed to gold at 50m? currently shooting 36#
OTF, I only shoot 18m with 800spine (31") 5.6mm carbon arrow
atm, shooting point on need some gap shooting above the TB to get gold,
should I go with higher spine? heavier tips? or lower spine? shorter
arrow with high spine? advise is appreciated
Heather & Jake, I want to say thank you for this video. I've tried to learn on my own from books and other videos, but one major problem is the vocabulary. Personally, these concepts are really hard to learn from a book. When you're a beginner, when you don't know what you don't know, you can't even ask the right questions. Thanks for the genuine conversation between the 2 of you about addressing those particular beginners. Now, to find the rest of the 'beginners' series......
ОтветитьHi Jake, have you done a video of how you selected the riser and limbs to suit Heather's outfit. I'm just starting out and looking for my first kit. Cheers John.
ОтветитьVery helpful! So longer draw length = higher weight than labeled at 28, and longer arrow means stiffer shaft. Combined, that means tall people should go for 400 or 500 instead of 600 and 700 arrow.
ОтветитьI would like to ask:
1) What brand of hot melt glue do you use?
2) What is the melting point of the hot melt glue you use?
3) Where can I buy this hot melt glue?
Thanks!
Still a lot of details. …. But Thank you …. Maybe you can recap and in simpler terms?
Ok adding top my comment… WAY TOO TECHNICAL with the chart…. There Has To Be an EASIER WAY???
I'm 10 minutes in and this video has already been very helpful. Thanks to you and your wife.
ОтветитьI know I'm late to the party; I don't like having others put their body near my drawn arrows, so for measuring DL I put a small plastic lid like from a Pringles can on the arrow and as I draw it catches the riser and gives me a measurable marker on the arrow when I let down.
ОтветитьI actually learned a lot thanks to her asking the questions I would ask and been lost when I got lost! Great idea to include her. 😊
ОтветитьThis is a great video, I'm new also thank you
Ответитьgreat you two......5 stars to you both.
ОтветитьIm glad you chose a affordable easton inspire spine. Because most people can't afford the best and most forgiving gear.
Giving heather a win&win riser and limbs.. a beginner will die to get that gear as a start lol
Wow I'm really happy coming across this as a beginner barebow archer too! My local archery shop recommended the Easton Inspire arrows too. Only recently realized I accidentally bought two different spines & always been too intimidated to ask what difference spine/lengths made, but the shop is always too busy and also no physical access to my college club. Maybe it's bc they can't help in person, but even when I ask the club coaches & officers for advice, I always end up being more confused after since they often don't explain things as beginner friendly as I'd like. So thank you both for the transparency & really taking us step by step! Much appreciated!
ОтветитьI still like aluminium arrows!
You can't find all carbon arrows with a metal detector and all carbon arrows can shatter into very nasty splinters!
I love how you both are great at communicating with each other!!!
ОтветитьSo looooong and very confusing, when you think arrow lenght and say draw lenght. When yow think 28" and say 27" . Not very helpful for beginners
ОтветитьSo jealous of your local range. We have one 3D course that a person could shoot at anytime but it 45min away and just 3D targets. For me I have to have my own targets and go to our local woods and setup and shoot.....which works but dang lol.
ОтветитьIs there a Heather playlist?
ОтветитьNow I know when I to my clients about carpentry how there feel 😧
ОтветитьThis I'd a great video I will need do review the video again because it alot of infro
ОтветитьGreat video! Thank you so much!
ОтветитьWhat is your opinion on the Gold Tip Warrior fletched (feathers) arrow for barebow ?
ОтветитьTerima kasih jake😎👍🏹🥇🇲🇾
