Is there no way to increase the Vox Mon through headphones while recording vocal tracks? I spent damn near $200 on an interface that that lacks features that equipment half the cost has.

The independent 48v manual buttons was what attracted me to this one, love the overall sound and meter display. Fantastic

Hey mate, really debating the motu m2 or the elgato xlr.

Primary use is for single mic streaming, gaming and recording courses with the sm7b.

Can i buy Steinberg UR22C instead of this ?

Just started using one about an hour ago. Don't know if mine is a newer series but the knobs feel great AND the box flies just as well if not better.

Hi mates im a begginer, would it be ideal if I want to connect 2 monitor speakers in the back, the mic in the front left and a guitar on the front right as well? Would it work fine? It will only be used for light music recording and some live streaming here and there.

Would you say that the mix dial is worth the extra $69? I just bought the motu m2 but was torn between it and the m audio air 192-8 as its currently $40 cheaper than the m2 and offers a mix dial. The only thing the m audio air 192-8 doesnt have is the metering but I dont which is better?

I bought an M2 based on this review and have largely been loving it, except I'm now encountering this intermittend loud buzzing sound during recordings (both on Zoom and on local recordings using Audacity). Any ideas what this might be? Using a Hosa XLR cable and SE Electronics V7 mic.

Got 4i4 and it had USB power issues from the get go... what a hot garbage. Returned and got Motu M2, just lovely , works out of the box... no issues with any clipping or driver crashes.

Hi. I've seen your reviews for both this unit and the FocusRite Vocaster 2. Just wondering how the Motu stacks up to the Vo 2 for one who does mostly pre-recorded podcasting (no live-streaming) and adds all of his bumper music and sound effects in post. Specifically interested in how the pre-amps compare, and if you think the TRS camera output on the Vo 2 is enough of a feature to tip the scales in its favor. Another solid review here, btw. My Motu M2 will randomly stop outputting audio (input will remain working). Most notable on Windows but it has happened once on Mac. Anyone else with this issue??

Does it make the speakers pop when you turn the computer on and off?

Es posible enviar el retorno de la salida del ordenador? Quiero sacar por altavoces el audio de zoom. Y mediante la input 1, meter al ordenador y a zoom el micrófono de mi sala.
El resultado es que a zoom Entra el micrófono y la propia realimentacion del zoom.
Puedo evitarlo?

Nice video, one question I bought the MOTU M2 test it but there is a Problem wenn I turn up the Gain over 60% I have a rustle on my ear and with more gain it gets louder the same problem is wenn I do it without an microphone. Is there a problem with the interface?

Coming back to this 3 years later, and still loving my M2. I tried the Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen, and then the Vocaster One, and while the extra gain was nice on the Vocaster, I switched back to my M2 - there's just something really clean and nice about this preamp. Wondering if you'll do an updated video to see how it compares to some of the new boys in town?

Great review - thank you - was never quite happy with my Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen (did a great job, but not quite happy). So after this review I bought the Motu M2.
Had initial problem with intermittent connection / noise using a high speed USB C cable - but switched to the cable supplied in the box and all is good
- I found the M2 noticeably cleaner with lower noise floor.
- For some reason has easier and more reliable selection of inputs in DAWs (Audition and Da Vince Resolve on M1 Mac).
- The on/off button so much more convenient.
- The level indicator so much quicker and more accurate to set esp when setting up for quick Zoom or Teams meet (I can get it spot on within a second or so before going live).
- And it has separate 48v Phantom Power for each channel so I can connect dynamic and condenser mics at same time
- Clean on a 48v Sennheiser condenser and more than enough power for Sure SM58 with less noise than the Scarlett.
- Sold the Scarlett and never looked back

Wow, you're the first reviewer I've seen who actually mentioned the issue of colour-blind-unfriendly design in audio gear. There are way too many tiny LEDs out there in close shades of red/orange/yellow/green (even something called 'amber', which IMO is just sadistic), and it does get annoying sometimes. You'd think given how common colourblindness is - around 10% among males - the design teams would be working around it, but no.

Hey does this ‘reset’ the volume/gain levels every time you shut down a PC? I was very heavily considering the audient id4 Mkii but learned that it resets the gain level every time you shut down your pc which is a HARD pass (that’s terrible quality of life, no idea how that’s a thing).
Does this do that? Or does it retain its mic gain level setting?

Hello, thanks you for this video. I bought a motu M2 after I saw it but is this normal that I can"t remove the self noise ? I'm using a SM7B so I don't understand my I have this problem. Is everybody have this kind of noise ?

I can't find any documentation anywhere that states this is 32bit or 32bit floating point sampling. Everything says it's 24bit. Can you clarify?
