Great demo, great playing and tones. I've been a fan of the Duncan Distortion since trying one for the first time in 1985. I already loved the JB, but the Distortion had an edginess that worked better in some of my guitars. I used both pickups, and all different brands like DiMarzio and EMG, Bertolini, etc. But my go-to pickup for much of the 80s when I played in the L.A. hair metal scene was a toss-up between the Distortion, Full Shred and Custom SH-5.
ОтветитьGreat demo, thanks. Good to hear the clean tones too.
ОтветитьWhat gauge strings are on it.
ОтветитьI just purchased this guitar today.
ОтветитьIs it hard to change the strings on that guitar.
ОтветитьI will purchase one of these. Great sounding guitar.
ОтветитьIm love the new charvels.
Ответить.......15.....charvels.........!!!!
ОтветитьThese So Cals are surprisingly versatile, great tones from clean to dirty. I have one myself, I posted some vids with it on my channel. You captured the spectrum of sounds really well, better than any other review I’ve seen. It sounds amazing, nice to see a reviewer showing off it’s clean tones too.
Ответитьthese pickups are completely useless!! they sound horrible in the clean sound! I am thinking about buying this guitar ,but if i do there is no doubt I will change these pickups with 3 single coil
ОтветитьBoth videos on this guitar sounded great Brett. Nice job
ОтветитьNice guitar...plenty of sustain! Sounds brilliant!
ОтветитьOOOH!! That's nice!! You're in fine form today Brett. Some very solid licks there old friend. Liking this strat a lot also.
ОтветитьI'm wondering. If you compare Fender Stratocaster with floyd and humbucker and Charvel So Cal. They sound different to me. What makes the difference really? They are made same way. Woods?
ОтветитьHey Brett, one more fantastic review! I love Charvel, I still have my original 1986 Charvel model 2 that I purchased brand new along with about 10 others! I have quite a few Mexico made Charvels and I must say, all of them are great. I often look for an HH strat style guitar with a Floyd Rose and no other guitar company has anything close to the Mexico Charvels for the price! I love your channel, keep up the great work!
ОтветитьNice Demo Brett ---- I have 2 USA model Charvels ( A White and Pink San Dimas) and 2 Mexican Charvels (1 Red San Dimas, 1 White So Cal) and the Mexican models are fairly close to the USA model in term of playability and sound of the guitar. Yes the USA are better all around and have better hardware but the Mexican models hang and keep it closer than you might think. I have the Mexican model with the neck adjustment at the bottom near the pickup and it makes is MUCH EASIER than taking off the neck!..... For the $$ they are absolute great guitars, cant go wrong with them especially at the price
ОтветитьI guess I am out of the loop. I didn't realize Charvel was bought by Fender some years ago. Beautiful sounding guitar!
ОтветитьBTW...did I tell you the Eastman Romeo finally arrived? Worth every month (many) I had to wait. A desert island guitar for sure.
ОтветитьThis is a real beauty.
ОтветитьVery nice!
ОтветитьHey Brett! Love the Charvel. I have admit I shy away from guitars with a Floyd. I guess I need to get over my apprehension and buy one. Now I have a reason to buy a guitar with a Floyd...its THERAPY!
ОтветитьNot many guitarists have a signature chord associated with them but Brett is one of them!
ОтветитьNice video as usual! And very nice guitar too!
Sounds good and looks beautiful 🤩
Thanks again Brett!
Excellent demo, Brett!
ОтветитьThey feel so good, my USA 2009 plays a bit better but my 2018 DK24 HH FR is so comfortable. I have to say it tho, they both suffer from a bit of fret sprout (easily fixable but a pattern for charvel for the last decade). I too grew up in the 80's and bought an 1985 San Dimas when i was 16, unfortunately that one had a Kahler which eat high E strings and that crap locking nut behind the nut concept sucked, Im happier with my later version Charvels over that original.
ОтветитьKiller Brett!
Ответитьsounds nice when you play it , man (and thats rift sawm - the absolute minumum for 1/4 is 45 degrees, but in reality , you want vertical, for it to be dimensionally stable, which is why they use it, when possible) . . and that was remarkably stratty when you said so . . nice colour too :)
Ответитьbeautiful :D
