My advice, if you are American, rent your own place in Brooklyn or queens, 3 bedrooms. Then list two rooms for rent, sublet, post itnon Craigslists or spare room, or any other, try targeting asian international students, they are the best. And basically enjoy your free rent... Ttye numbers usually add up, you may even make a small profit to cover house expenses.

Lived in NYC on a budget for 6 years. 3 of them in Manhattan up in Washington Heights. Ultimately despite being where I wanted to live since I was young the COL is too expensive if you're not making six figures... like a lot of North American cities now. I'm now planning on leaving the US and thinking of moving to Spain (how I discovered your channel btw)
