I regretted buying the URD CLK. Damn car always oversteers out of corners. It's undrivable. Also the fact that it has a problem with the wipers you have to manually fix by editing the extension file -- lazy developers never fixed the issue and still selling the car as is.
ОтветитьFinally I see that Williams BMW prototype in a sim. Count on me.
ОтветитьSo you can't complete the grid without using all those P2W cars?
ОтветитьLegion actually has the whole field from that era fully bop'd and high quality.
ОтветитьMaybe one day but I would add the McLaren F1, Audi R8, Cadillacl LMP02, Bentley Speed 8
And the RSS Early 2000s GTs
For fun lol
Almost a full decade of isanity!
The last time I have driven these cars was on the OG Test Drive Le Mans game.
ОтветитьLast year i got myself a gaming PC after doing a lot of research on Assetto Corsa and the overwhelming amount of mods. Enjoyed Pcars2 a lot on PS4, but it had its limitations. I'm still a noob on PC with mods but i managed to recreate starting grids fairly accurately from the 80's (early 80's Group-C), 90's (BPR Global GT and late 90's LMP, GT1 and GT2) and early 2000's FIA GT, found most of the classic tracks and liveries and it's glorious nostalgia!
CM is essential and helpful with "fixing" cars, didn't know about switching the rires though. Going to try that out, thanks man!
AC may have its issues, but it’s cheap, and that makes it the best deal in sim racing by a long way.
Ответитьyou should hop in to the league broadbent does with these cars.
ОтветитьThis might shock some people. Cos it ain’t GT3
ОтветитьAC in a nutshell to me is great to drive, terrible race with any real sort of actual competitiveness. From the bipolar ai to the complete lack of any feel FFB. So much good utterly ruined by two things for me.
ОтветитьI love the titles you put in here haha, you really stepped up the editing game!
ОтветитьLove that you put so much work into offline racing, thats my jam dude!!
ОтветитьLiterally ran a 30 minute race similar to this last night, easily the most fun era to mess with
ОтветитьAssetto Corsa is my favorite racing sim. Although I do agree the "racing" aspect is lackluster. The driving part is so compelling to me that I overlook the "racing" part. That said, I'm more interested in and experience over a race, so I guess AC's shortcomings were never going to bother me much anyway.
ОтветитьDRIVE THAT NOT GT3, you heard the man
ОтветитьThis is great I tried something similar other year with same set of cars could never balance them enough to my likening then gave up
ОтветитьIMO AC is basically only good for driving civilian street cars in public road tracks. Like, it's REALLY good at that, and that alone makes it worth it, but I don't really like driving actual race cars in it. AC2 really needs to beef up the ai and the motorsports side of the equation.
ОтветитьI've been doing exactly this for a while now, and for the same reason. Love the prototype cars from this era. I remember seeing these cars when ALMS used to run at Portland International raceway, in Oregon. The Panoz was spectacular. There used to be a physics update on Race Dept. for the URD Mercedes CLR, that fixed a lot of things.
ОтветитьAre you planning on making ultimate GT grid as well?
ОтветитьGreat upload as always Man! I found updated CLR at GTPlanet. Im not sure what its pace would be against other cars here.
ОтветитьGot so much same opinion. Love AC so much but the Bop and just never works. Multiplayer could be so much fun with Oldtimers and legendarys, but people drive gt3 at spa everyday for ten years now. Hope LFM does AC someday
ОтветитьHmm I think I’m gonna have to take a look into this. Thx
ОтветитьYep, I have about 5 hours in AC because I hate the AI.
ОтветитьExcellent, I would add to it the Auriel 8 and the Cadenza Polaris to make my dream "late 1990s and turn of the 2000s" grid.
ОтветитьI don't know why this happened, but yesterday I booted AMS2, took Nissan from GT1 class, went to Daytona, and had 2 hours of extreme fun. I did a 30 laps race with 1h practice before. AMS2 really shines if the cars don't have any ABS or TC. I don't know why, but I find every car with electronics in AMS2 to be just wrong.
ОтветитьDidn't Jimmy Broadbent join a private league that had BOP for these cars recently?
ОтветитьThis is great - I have been doing literally the same thing on my AC, with exactly the same cars, and it has been so hard getting something roughly balanced across all these mods. Like it can be done, but man it took some work, and genuinely kind of reassuring to see you also using hilariously high restrictor settings for the CLR and the Panoz. I had not done any meddling with the tyres, so that's a really good tip, so excited to see if that can help.
ОтветитьUntil RSS releases part 2 of this pack, you can look up Legion for the Esperante GT1 and some other machines from this Era. Quality doesn't match the Big Three, but it's there if you want it.
ОтветитьYeah AI is not the strong suit of AC. Most (incl. me) like it for collecting cars (mods) and almost endless customizing capabilities. I still am astounded by the fact that this game is still popular after 9 year. Modders are like plastic surgeons, hiding the games age very successfully with every operation. Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьHow could you not be a fan of AC? It's the best on the market.
ОтветитьIf it's all the same I'll save myself the hassle and stick to AMS2 for my fix of 90s GT racing. Not as many cars but you do have the bonus of some period correct circuits to race them on.
ОтветитьIf Race Sim comes out with the '98 Panoz, Lotus GT1, McLaren F1 GTR or '98 911 GT1 in their second pack I will gladly pay whatever price to have a full on classic GT1 nostalgia boner
Ответить"I just dont get it: Dont people just want spec racing. Why released more than one car in a class?"
Bitterness aside, any chance you'd ever do a bunch of endurance races in it? You cant really do something realistic, but imagine a championship with some of the big races haphazardly thrown together in a schedule. Of course not full length, because you might go insane.
Glad to see you giving AC one more try. I, like you, messed with it pre-COVID, took a break from AC for other titles and general burnout, and would probably only come back for "carsets" like this. You put in the grunt work to make it as good as you could reasonably do, and I think the sim racing world is better off, even just a little bit, for it. Thanks!
ОтветитьPanoz all the way!
ОтветитьMy #1 pet peeve with sim racing in this era is that GT2 always ignored, and that had arguably as much cool stuff as GT1 at the time
ОтветитьI never found AC AI that bad but I haven't played many other modern titles quite as much with AI on track
ОтветитьI wish someone would make a video how to use the custom-tire-model-generator feature (or w/e it's called) that is built into Content Manager... Could never really figure it out lol
ОтветитьI just wish there were other classes in the game. Do you wanna know what's more fun than driving a prototype? Crashing into gts of course!
ОтветитьAgree with the 'not a great sim' part. That said, it's the only sim I actually enjoy and put some time in. I don't ever do very long races because I don't have the time and I learned to cope with the cursed AI. Endlessly fiddling around with content manager and all the Pure/Sol graphics options is somehow very enjoyable to me. So thank you very much sir for this great kit bash of mods and settings the play with! ☺
