LINUX ADDICTS LOVE THIS!
Ответитьnow, the harder question is, when was the last time microsoft did something this useful to windows? when?
Ответитьyeah its called "winget update --all" in the CMD Admin window then "winget update --all --include-unknown" and you're done.. This has been possible since XP
ОтветитьFor me it shows a japanese name, no install method, and it "exists" on my pc, but the command does not work. So something is wrong
ОтветитьMicrosoft is doing a great job at making features for Windows nowadays
ОтветитьThe feature you didn't even want ever.
God I hate windows apps. Un-uninstallable, forever bricked into C:\Program Files\WindowsApps with write access only granted to TrustedInstaller.
A mess to free up space, impossible to repair if it breaks.
No thank you.
Then how to completely delete winget to your computer?
ОтветитьI love how it opens a bunch of graphical installers xDDD
ОтветитьBut can it compete with nix or Pacman
ОтветитьIm kinda sad that you didnt mention chocolatey, scoop or wingetui
ОтветитьI only just now found out about this existence. This is going to make my life at my job sooooo much easier, I can't believe it 🤣
ОтветитьBut.. I think u need pay of some programs right ?
Linux still free!
Hi. My computer is running on Windows 10 LTSC and I don’t have access to Winget and Edge, meaning no Microsoft Store. How do I install Winget?
ОтветитьSo basically another Chocolatey
ОтветитьCan't believe I didn't hear about this before now, thanks.
ОтветитьSorry, but i quit windows long time ago, very problematic OS :))
ОтветитьA package manager isn't something for an average user or admin to get excited about. In Linux they needed to mask a convoluted process that doesn'texist in Windows. Unless you have to pull in a shady third party repository to get your software then you aren't getting the real Linux experience anyway.
ОтветитьI ran upgrade - - all.
I'm amazed by how much it found.
I did not know anything about this. But thanks to your great detailed explanation I do and have installed it. thank you very much. You explain things very simple for those of us who do not have any knowledge. Keep up the great work.
Ответитьand then this same software will collect data and black list certain websites. Microsoft can't be trusted.
ОтветитьI don't understand, why is it so awesome. I see it only as console version of program manager in the settings where I can reinstall of uninstall programs on my computer..
ОтветитьMicrosoft in the 80s: Linux is a cancer
Microsoft Now: Lets copy Linux!
It's a good thing to have the option to use a package manager on windows, but I am gonna pass on the idea of using a bloatware autoinstaller.
ОтветитьCan you upate more than one apps but not all?
Ответитьwhy can't this be merged with the windows store?
ОтветитьDoes the repository host UWP apps as well as .exe/.MSI? Such as those that can be found on the MS Store
ОтветитьI wish the people who complain about the Microsoft Store would actually learn how to use their computer, because they would love WinGet.
ОтветитьMy main question is , can I host the manifests and installers privately for example in an artifactory and how would I install them in that case? I'm kind of suprized you didn't cover that in the video
ОтветитьIt's ridiculous this effectively comes pre-installed with consumer versions of Windows 10 and 11, but this isn't officially supported on Windows Server because the Microsoft Store is "not compatible" and you can't easily bundle license files. Businesses have a much larger use case for a Windows package manager than the majority of consumers.
(In the github discussion it appears it may be possible to install it to Windows Server unofficially, but you have to jump through a few hoops for a chance at getting it to work.)
Tabs in File Explorer, multiple virtual desktops, now a package manager. Hmmm....
ОтветитьThank You ThioJoe & Team you are awesome
ОтветитьOMG THAT PROGRAM LIST. DUDE.
Ответитьjust tried this while watching your vedio, damn this is cool. THankyou Joe
ОтветитьDebian (Linux distribution) user here.
Am impressed Microsoft Windows is getting this thing, really useful for me due to some broken update systems some programs use
All I want is for windows to ASK ME where I want new programs installed to. How hard could that be?
CHROME has a setting which does this for me before it downloads new programs. Jeeeeeeeez. Have some respect WIN
!
it's not even mid it's just bad
ОтветитьWhy did I not know about this until now? Thanks you!
ОтветитьChocolatey has been there since a long time ago, and has much more packages available
Ответитьtera copy makes a list of all copied files and stores them as a text file not encrypted since finding that said file i dont use it anymore.
ОтветитьThanks alot for this clear video!
ОтветитьChocolatey.
ОтветитьOh, the command prompt...
My classmates aren‘t allowing me to debug their code in rhe Terminal, because they think that I can hack them.
Windows is not stuck in the past,Linux is amazing in this way.
ОтветитьLike Ninite or Patch My PC
ОтветитьWe need Synaptic Package Manager for Winget. But, being a legacy DOS user and refugee to Linux, I LOVE the command line too.
Ответитьu talk tooooo much mth fkr
ОтветитьNOTE: The first time you attempt to install from the manifest directory, you need to enable this from an admin prompt by running 'winget settings --enable LocalManifestFiles'
ОтветитьLinux users: look what they use to get a fraction of our power!
