They did a great job showing the steady deterioration of Galactica over the course of the show.
Ответитьwhat I never got was HOW did they cylons know they are networked? are they ALWAYS trying to hack them just in case?
ОтветитьI like how competently Colonel Tigh handles this engagement. Shows there’s a real officer under the drunk grump motif.
ОтветитьHey the nurse is Jamie Bamber's wife!
ОтветитьI like the fact that even though Lee had just been arrested for Mutiny/Treason, they still let him lead the defense of the Galactica, and the pilots still respected his authority.
Ответитьhow a dozen Vipers returned unscathed from a fight with well over 100 Cylon raiders is a miracle
ОтветитьShould have yanked the connection the second he had the fleet position. Tigh would understand.
ОтветитьGot to like Tigh when he said to Gaeta that he would prefer his work over Baltar even if he don't mean it and I think he did he knows it's what Gaeta needed for reassurance
ОтветитьThose shots of Galactica jumping away and whatever the Cylons just threw at them blowing through are just beautiful.
ОтветитьMan not a single movie or show since this one nailed the tense/realistic tone of combat. I love this show so much
ОтветитьAlso the combat nurse performing surgery on Adama is Jamie Bambers wife!
ОтветитьDo cylons attempt to implant a virus everytime there in Combat?
ОтветитьLoved this show. Well, most of it. Can't remember this episode. Good sign it's time for another watch.
ОтветитьThe best sci-fi show to date
ОтветитьAlways loved this this version. The rumor was that Edward James Olmos read the script and initially he stated he "was onboard" IF-there was no funny rubber aliens-that is-it had to be as real as the nose on your face. One of the greatest if not the best sci-fi there ever was.

Ответитьshame they didn't crunch the number with a 486 it would have been done in 30 seconds not ten minutes🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьIt always struck me as odd that the cylons kept trying to use their CNP hack when Galactica had shown repeatedly by this point that they couldn't hack it because nothing was networked.
ОтветитьHow the hell do you hack a computer network that's physically connected?
Computers on a single vessel with a hard wired network should be immune to this sort of thing.
I never liked the way they film the space battles. Tight snap-zoom closeups. Shaky cam. Skewed and tilted Dutch cam. Quick flicker to quick flicker. Intentional bad focus. Dark and shadowy murk which hides important details, interspersed with sudden blinding flashes and flares.
Intensity, tension, confusion, uncertainty. Audience attention is held strong because nobody dares to miss an important moment. And this effect carries over to add tension to in-ship scenes. I get it.
But it feels like a chore and a strain to watch. You don't want to watch the space battle happening all around you from inside a shaky little blurry distorted fishbowl. You want to be able to clearly see things, where they are, what they're doing. And this is sci-fi so let's assume that if you can't see all the tiny dots and invisible lasers which are trying to kill you then your computer display will helpfully illustrate things clearly for you.
They blame JJ Abrams for pioneering these techniques. But BSG2000 was the first to make the style popular. And as much as I hate it, it seems like it's going to stay around for a long while.
Goosebumps when I watch clips of this show and reminisce.
ОтветитьI always thought it was kinda funny how with all their technology, their medical bay looked like it was from the 1950s
Ответитьsuch a great show. need more like this.
Ответить'Will you pray with me?'
'Ha no.'
Still nerve-racking to watch!!!
ОтветитьLiterally the only time Saul Tigh ever said anything nice about Felix Gaeta, in one of the crucial moments of the show.
ОтветитьBSG tried so hard with the scifi details but medical stuff is awfully terrible. Defibrillator won't resuscitate a flatline. And what's her plan with a "knife"?
ОтветитьSeeing most of the actors were cylons lol
ОтветитьThe Lords of Kobol know I loved the original BSG. Every Sunday night my 12-year-old butt was planted in front of the TV. But the reboot took things to an entirely new level. The old BSG was, let's face it, kind of a campy show for kids. This version was a gritty, sci-fi drama for the ages.
ОтветитьThe way the Cylon Raiders are launched from the Base Ship reminds me of bats dropping from the roof of a cave and taking flight. They even look like bats!
Ответитьit would be 10 times more realistic if they leave out that firewall /router hacking nonsense . how to they hack via the ships wifi LOL
ОтветитьI love the fact that somehow they decided to add tension by coming up with the idea that just hooking computers together magically means they'll automatically be hacked, versus a single computer which somehow wouldn't. Bonus points for using a hardwired connection and breaking that connection magically makes your computers clean, which means the entire idea makes even less sense.
ОтветитьThis entire show was amazing. Top notch acting all around d
ОтветитьIt's been a while since I've seen the full episodes but who is the loudmouth brunette pilot again?
I know that she was always tangling with Starbuck & thought that she was hotter.
Too bad that she was killed off the series.
man i miss this show.......
ОтветитьWhat I never understood was how the ships could take hits from nukes but 50 cal (essentially from what we see) guns of the fighters were a danger to ships.
ОтветитьYou'd think separating the COMMUNICATIONS computer from the rest would be more then enough. Still love these early seasons though :)
ОтветитьI was a kid in 1970ies and watched BSG. I was never afraid of Cylons. They could not shoot think or anything,. This series I was utterly terrified of them.
ОтветитьGalactica can shrug off a nuke, but a damaged raider penetrates without issues
ОтветитьTrue, what a character. But Adama......
ОтветитьThis isn’t Battlestar Galactica.
ОтветитьAs a network engineer I don't understand why they simply air gap systems for example anything that transmits via wireless airgap it from critical systems they must do it normally.
Love the series but the tech reasons collapse when you put your work glasses on.
If only Gaeta wasn’t a prissy, weak, and slow desk jockey, the plan would have worked. My grandma can pull 3 plugs faster if humanity is reliant on it!
ОтветитьTravel bags 91 eh ports contract? Numbers??
