Sad I never asked my Big Momma ( great great grandmother) about her tribe. This explains why she was from Oklahoma and not Mississippi where Choctaw land is. All I knew was she was Choctaw she married a black man in Oklahoma and moved north.

im from Oklahoma and a lot of our cities are named after tribes. I used to live by Seminole and theres this small town I used to live in named Maud and it was literally built by white settlers to keep natives in Seminole. literally there’s a story i got told when I first moved there that a couple native boys got burned at the stake in the middle of the town because a white woman said they r@ped her. They weren’t even close to her.

You should do one on the Spanish and Native Americans war. I tell you what they don't teach history in Public Schools. I learn a lot on my own. Spain took a lot of land from the Native Americans.

In high school I was extremely depressed and did not try in any of my classes but especially history. As I got older I realized how much I loved history and wished I would’ve paid attention! These videos are so healing because I feel like I’m able to really learn about the things I didn’t give myself a chance to. Thank you Bailey !!

I am Hungarian, and so I would like to mention one thing. So that is about in Hungarian what meanings we have for certain words about Native American people and for the others they had been confused with. So in Hungarian we say India for the country and indiai (indiaiak, several person) for the people. And so for Native Americans, Amerika (no need to say) we say indián as for people, indiánok (several person). So Native American people got the word Indián only for them. There are certainly no Indiánok living in India if you ask a Hungarian person. And maybe things could get better on long term if people realise how to do that. ❤

1st- long history of Native American blood here. Also, Irish, English and Scottish. I have been to The Trail of Tears and I have always been devastated by what happened there. The Native Americans, American Indian peoples are and always will be the most mistreated group of humans in America’s history. They continue to be unfairly treated today and it’s everyone else who gets all the handouts America has to offer that cries about mistreatment when they have the least right to do so.
2-What I find sickening however is the way that some current “Americans” (if the original settlers couldn’t call themselves Americans what gives you the right to? Am I right? No? How does that even work, 🤔) anyhoo, it’s quite disturbing how so much of the current culture in America finds it’s perfectly appropriate to degrade and stereotype and shame and racially profile “white” people. It’s not anymore ok to do that then it is for any other culture of people. “White” people have experienced just as much slavery, persecution, slaughter etc as other races. It’s just not socially acceptable to talk about.

I find the term “white-washed” SO highly offensive that I can’t even begin to describe it. People have to stop being hypocrites. I’ve heard all the same tired arguments, yada blah blah and I call BS. It’s time to “grow up” America and do better. Period.

I love Bailey, find her endlessly entertaining and I love nothing better than a juicy true crime story. But she is the quintessential liberal Californian. I have skipped through so many episodes because I just couldn’t stand the degradation of Americans or white people or whatever it was. I have been genuinely offended at times and yes “white” people can be offended by being stereotyped as well. Crazy but true. People who think they have the highest degree of cultural intelligence are often the ones that are lacking it the most. Ready to move on from all of the racially/ethnically charged BS. ✌🏼

In Oklahoma in 10th grade we have ok history and we cover all of this and a lot more of what happens to Native Americans. I wish a lot of our other states would go over a lot of our state history so more knowledge about the F***ed up stuff that happened to native Americans.

I'm native of course not a hundred percent there's hardly anybody like that now however my great-grandmother born in 1917 was the youngest of 16 children and she was taken from her home on the rez made to cut her hair put in an orphanage and taught Christianity and English before she passed she got dementia and it was real bad she thought she was back in the orphanage waiting for her mother that was only after they killed millions of us off with disease and gasoline when they first started settling in the 13 colonies
