Say accuracy isnt a problem, what caliber would you prefer? Being shot out of a carbine
ОтветитьA 9mm in the dome is better than a .45 anywhere else. The 9mm might seem like the boring practical 350 Chevy of the gun world, but I have found it to be the best choice after all factors are considered.
I have a .44 mag that will obliterate the target, but choosing that over the 9mm would mean that I would have to ignore other important practical considerations.
45ACP is having seen a number of gun shot victims with various caliber weapons as a police officer.
ОтветитьHere’s my alternatives to an old video, but still relevant:
.38 Super
.357 Sig
10mm
None it's all the same personal preference and this video is based on yours
ОтветитьSmart man knows his small arms. What's best is what you shoot best.
Ответить9mm vs .40 vs .45... which is better for self defense? ....12 gauge 3in. .00 tungsten Buckshot against a pistol any day.
ОтветитьGlock 19: 16 rounds
Glock 23: 14 rounds
Glock 30: 11 rounds
If you can't hit a target with any of these guns. You're the problem.
But for the sake of argument, if I were to be attacked by Michael Myers or Jason Vorhees? I'll take the .40
Hard to go wrong with any of those rounds unless you are on the wrong end of them. I agree shot placement is important, I like definitive rounds .
ОтветитьBigger holes and more trauma are always best, but hit ability always takes the crown. Sure you got a 500 s&w magnum but if you can't hit the broad side of a barn with it then it's useless. Ok you got a 380 but your hitting the 10 ring over and over and over well then it's very practical
Ответить380 is best
ОтветитьWith good ammo the result with the same shot placement is identical.
And then the higher magazine capacity and lower recoil of 9mm wins, because it helps you get more rounds on target quickly.
No matter what size a bullet is a bullet
Ответить.40 easily, more power then 45 acp and more then 9mm
Ответить9mm best i belive. 45 scp next and 40 ? Naww
ОтветитьSome of the best and most common sense information available anywhere about choice of firearms and ammunition in this video right here.
ОтветитьFast is fine, accuracy is everything.
ОтветитьAround the middle of chest gets you a heart, vena cava, aortas, vertebral column and many other goodie’s ! And yes let’s not forget the 🧠 brain…. That shuts em down quickly . With the exception that they’ll kick a lot, only last 30 seconds or so
ОтветитьWhich is better? The one you can hit your target most consistently with.
ОтветитьI have all three
ОтветитьI grew up shooting a 40 and so I just stuck with it.
ОтветитьAll good for human’s.
ОтветитьAll things being equal, then?
ОтветитьI wish I could shoot a 9mm better than a .45 acp strictly for economical purposes! For whatever reason I shoot the .45 acp (Glock 21, S&W 2.0 .45) way more accurate than any 9mm . I still carry a 43x because the others are almost impossible to conceal for me but at home it’s .45 all day
ОтветитьSo why US military change to 45 acp and use it for 75 years if they dont care about caliber?
ОтветитьI will use 50 cal smith and wesson 500 pistol.
Ответитьused to be a 40 guy but now im with the 9mm
ОтветитьI agree 100% I have a PX4 .40 with a red Laser on it love it for home defense it is to heavy and large for CC so M&P9+ Shield get's that job!!
ОтветитьShot placement is everything. You get shot center mass that 7/8 ppl stat is bullshit.
ОтветитьI like em ALL!!! I don't care what caliber it is. I'll run anything. .22, .380acp, 9mm, 40S&W, .45acp, 12ga, .223, .556, ect. Bring it on! Ya see, because at the end of the day,.......I wouldn't wanna get it by ANY of em. Even pellet guns aren't fun to get hit by, and I believe there is at least one recorded death by one.🤷♂️ So.....ya know....
ОтветитьSimple.....45 cal!
Ответить38spl. 😇
But seriously besides performance I think an often overlooked factor is the advantage of low pressure (thus low blast) for tactical hearing. I think recoil that one can easily handle one handed should be considered as well.
the fat 45 Auto the very best the one and only!
ОтветитьThey are all
Basically the same just depends on shot placement
Just get a 10mm and be done with it.
ОтветитьSeven out of eight people don't tactically train with their firearm....until you simulate an adrenaline dump into your muscle memory , you cannot control accuracy
Ответитьhits on target? might as well go with 22lr since they survive anyway right?
ОтветитьWhy do you wear a cap inside the home?
Ответить45acp You ONLY have to hit target once / maybe twice at most! 🚫No comment on 40 but we were shooting each other for hundreds of years b4 40 cal!
Ответить.40 is going to penetrate and carry that energy to the target every time it’s a no brainer you don’t need 20 rounds in a magazine to take out a threat one or two .40 slugs moving at 9mm speed to the chest should incapacitate even the biggest bodybuilder 165 to 180 grains should do the trick 😊 .40 was the new 9mm thats why they stopped using them hell even my granny had a .357 mag who needs a .45 or a puny .38 special 😂 the smallest semiautomatic round I would only think about using for self defense is .38 super. 9 mil isn’t worth shit after it hits anything before it hits what’s intended the only hope for 9 mil owners is civil defense ammo and a 9 inch barrel 😂 case closed…
CHANGE MY MIND 😅
Nh here
Ответить40 or 45 are better than 9mm
ОтветитьShitty review
ОтветитьResponding to a knife attack inside 21 feet you might hit well with a few a few a 9mm shots and still end up with a knife inside you..the heavier 40 s&w is a "better" insurance policy when the time comes..LEO shooting stats support my outrageous claim. 🚷
ОтветитьAny of these, and some others are fine. All of our opinions matter, and calibers sometimes matter, but mostly caliber isn't the bigger factor. Pun intended.
ОтветитьI do armed security work and as many know we have to pay for our own training/kit and even though I just started carrying a Glock 22, 40sw I'm probably going to go back to my trusty Glock 17. Less recoil, cheaper cost of ammo means more range time. As stated by one of my firearm instructors "There is no magic bullet! It's all about shot placement" .
ОтветитьI have a longer comment explaining my reasonings but the brief version is the best is the 165gr @ 1,175 ft/s Hornady Critical Defense.40 S&W.
Followed by the 200gr @ 1,080 ft/s .45 ACP +P Speer Gold Dot.
Than lastly the 9mm +P 124gr @ 1,250 ft/s. Which is still only 425 ft-Lb's.
The .40 mentioned is 500 ft-Lb's and the .45 +P is 515 ft-Lb's
I think the .40 mentioned is a good combination of capacity while still packing a big punch with a greater chance of ending the threat quicker and with less shots than the 9mm.
50 cent got shot with 9 9mm's and is still around walking and talking.... Idk anyone who ate 9 .40's or 9 .45 ACP +P's and made it out alive.
The video for me I think is obvious.
The question is saying you could shoot each equally well, what round would you consider is more deadly? Thats the way I approach the question....
I think the 165gr .40 S&W is the best EDC round. Did I buy my wife who hardly ever shoots a .40? NO!!!
She has a .380 90gr .380's!
I say there is a list of most lethal rounds, then you see which round can I shoot well that is highest on that list. And the answer to that question is which round is the best for YOU....
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Great content 👏👏👏
