The "goth" mix and "Santa muerte " isn't part of the day of the dead, (the Miccailhuitontli) that is a new trent from the XX century, is a color full adition but not the core of the ritual and are popular in big citys and media but they are not part of the real ceremony on ancient twons in México were the originals gods and godesses are key to the ritual, such like Mictlantehcutli, Miquiztesiuatl or Tecolotlacatl.

By the way america is a continent not a country.

Only the "elite" or high class thinks USA culture is ok, the rest of the 80% of the people have his own cultural values such like the prehispanic "Tequio" (work without payment, because is for the greated good "comunism say USA").

We don't call it "chamanic", is just songs.

There is no immortality in Mexican mitology, is the opposite, everything is going to die, the sun, the moon, the people, the worlds and even the gods, thats the core of our life style ("a cojer y a mamar que el mundo se va a acabar" ) thats why we still have deitys of death. The immortality is a european catolic concept.

Even though this was 3 years ago. It's still relevant today. I'm a black Goth and I live on the U.S./Mexican border. And I've traveled to Goth shows in Mexico. Normally, when I go to a goth show. I hate talking politics. It's my ONLY safe space and I don't wanna piss people off. But, you're 100% right. And you've gained a follower. Btw I'm Communist and Muslim. I love Mexico and it's people. It's my second home..
