These studios DESERVE more than $600 a day.

We’re looking too. We live in CA, but will travel anywhere. We’re looking for a great LA or other mixing mastering studio where we actually enjoy the sound. Tired or us having to take a sound break every 20-30 minutes because of the shrill. Looking for a top Berlin, Nashville or the like kind of studio in LA. Or anywhere even close. We’ve recorded at some great sounding mixing studios and a LOT of bad ones. Especially in LA. The best sounding studio, right up there with Ocean Way and a few great ones in Berlin and Nashville is a studio in Arizona, called Seeflection Studios. Like at Ocean Way, I cried listening to the mixes there and it’s literally build in a garage. We love Sage Audio too. Sad to say, but those three studios are booked for a long time out.

Does anyone know an LA studio that actually sounds great? You can always check on horror-tones or NS-whatevers, but we are all freaking tired, tired, TIRED of being sold a bill of BS goods that make our ears bleed like at Capitol, Sunset or Henson. Isn’t there a great studio in LA where they don’t just lazily plop down NS10’s and other junk on the recording console? Come on, there’s a reason why so many who can afford to got to Nashville or Berlin to mix and master. Come on LA. Get it together or keep losing top musicians to elsewhere where they care deeply about the music.

Recently moved to Nashville and bought a house really close to Berry Hill. Had no idea until after I moved here that Berry Hill is where all the cool studios are.

Incredible ITW, but one thing, i sorry for Joe Carrell but the tapes over the EMINENCE speakers are dead 🤦‍♂, unless he wants to destroy some proof 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think one of the funniest things about Andrew Masters is basically every week he has to go "ohh, yeah, such a nice mic." to basically the guy talking about the same set of mics every other week. "We use the Coles 4038s...." --- "ohhhhh, yeahhhh, so nice."

Having now watched a few of these....I've noticed that even the biggest recording studio's are very light on available guitars/amps. I don't think I've seen more than three different types of guitar amps in largest of studios. Must be a BYO gear policy - which to a degree is expected but when shelling out a lot of money for recording time I would expect the studio of choice to have ALOT of equipment on offer.

I remember going to Treasure Isle when I last went to Nashville. Fred Vail personally gave me and my buddy a tour and talked to us for about 3 hours in the control room. Super cool, dude, and a great experience

Heritage Audio isnt cheap Joe.. hahahah. Id say they are mid grade. Ive never heard anyone hate on HA. Warm is budget but HA maybe not. I have a Successor and a Symph EQ I use for mastering. Both sound amazing and are made very well..

Whenever I see a set of drums in the big rooms, I wish you’d give ‘em a bash just to hear what the room sounds like…

I had the good fortune to work with Joe a few times as a drummer at TBN studios in Hendersonville. He’s a great guy, very down to earth and very knowledgeable. He’s worked with the best, always had a good time with him behind the board.

My first “pro” mixer was a Mackie 1202 which I also use frequently as a headphone mix/amp.
