You can't talk about the Carcharadons without talking about their Chapter Master, Tyberos the Red Wake. So far as we can tell, he is the largest space marine in history by a large amount. His armor had to be made with pieces of a dreadnaught. He's already the size of a Custode or one of the smaller Primarchs. Imagine when he gets the Primaris upgrade lol.

They are chimeric. Read Prince of Crows and you will see that Sevatar definitely had a hand in creating these guys.
