The "Forest Temple is the old Castle" theory might actually refer to Twilight Princess too. The Sacred Grove is located in Faron Woods, and the ruins are reminiscent of both the OoT temple and the Castle Town walls. To further emphasize this, the Master Sword is resting right where the ToT logically would be. It's so uncannily familiar that it makes one wonder why a near replica of the ToT is randomly sitting around near where the Lost Woods would be. I like the idea that it is indeed an old castle, an old location of the ToT, and the Hero's Shade, forever lost withing the Lost Woods, had nowhere else to place the Master Sword to rest. Also leans into the Timeshift stone theory, if the new ToT's pedestal is a timeshift stone and the one in the old ToT isn't, it makes sense why Link travels to the past in a vastly different manner in TP.

As much as I like the gap theories, why are we assuming that the Phantom Ganon in WW is the old one and not just a new puppet?
