My guitar had such a small cavity it was a mess but it works
ОтветитьAmazing video, this guy was a real good teacher kept my attention the whole video 👍
ОтветитьI wired mine up but at the end tapping the pickups no matter what position I put the toggle switch it’s picking up on both pickups when I tap it with a screw
ОтветитьCan you set these up with 2 volume and 1 tone pots as opposed to 2?
ОтветитьHi, could you give me a piece of advice? I have two EMG 89s, and I would like to use one of them as the 89R in the neck position. Which means that it needs to be installed upside down. Can it be done this way? The idea is to get only the outer coils live in the split mode. Will the upside-down position make any difference to the sound (either in the humbucker mode or the single coil mode?
Ответитьdo you have similar tutorial for guitar with 3 knobs? I have vol/vol/tone and 3way switch
ОтветитьIs it possible to install this Set without the Tone Controlls??
ОтветитьI've just bought a set of these off Amazon, I have 1 large pot with that quick connection. Then 3 little regular pots with soldered prongs, wires only have connections on one end
ОтветитьHe doesnt mention how to wire into 3 way switch not complete video
ОтветитьThis was very helpful, made it very simple to follow along. Thank you EMG!
ОтветитьThanks EMG!
ОтветитьIs this all the stuff I need if I am switching from passive to active pickups???
ОтветитьI did this exact thing on my AIO Les Paul. 57/66 set super easy best thing I could have done. Now I can swap out whatever EMG pickup I want without soldering anything. It's amazing.
ОтветитьFingerboard pickup sounds weird.
ОтветитьWhat the biggers capacitor is that??
ОтветитьI got the 81/85, but only ONE VOLUME and ONE TONE knob, with a 3 way selector switch...first EMG pickup was soldered on 10yrs ago, now I go the solderless ones with the buss and everything...way too confused.
ОтветитьI’d rather solder than deal with those tiny connectors. But I can see why this would appeal to some.
ОтветитьHe doesn't mention anything about the soldering iron in the beginning it part of tools u need lol 😆 😉
ОтветитьI'm very confused where the tremolo ground wire goes. I have the EMG 3 way solderless switch with 1 volume pot and 1 tone pot. I just don't understand how the tremolo ground wire attaches to the switch sense its supposed to be solderless. Do I just not use it? I'm a newbie to this haha,
Ответитьafter 30 years fiddeling with guitars ....thanks for the"screwdriver-trick"...for me this was mindblowing...the best part of the video for me!
ОтветитьI want these in my les paul!
ОтветитьCan i install these on an Ibanez standard bridge guitar? Mine only has 2 pots and a pick up switch.
ОтветитьWill it work on a 1vol 1 tone configuration?
ОтветитьWhat about a guitar with just a volume?
ОтветитьI've never seen someone call a neck pickup a "fingerboard" pickup before.
ОтветитьI remember installing a pair of EMGs on my Epiphone les paul back in 2005. I don't think there these plug in pots and I did an awful job. This looks so easy!!
ОтветитьThis set up isn't working for me. I get no pickup output sound when jack plug installed. If plug is only half way in Both pickups make sound regardless of selector switch position. I even wired up a different stereo jack just confirm it wasn't the jack
ОтветитьI'm confused as hell as to how to install them with only have 1 volume and 1 tone control
ОтветитьAre EMG's the only solderless pickups available? They're way too expensive for my needs and soldering isn't an option for me. I gutted a cheap guitar thinking it shouldn't be too expensive to replace the internals but ordering a solderless humbucker alone will cost more than the price I paid for the entire guitar itself and that's not including the solderless kit lol
Ответитьhi, could you tell me at what height both pick-ups should be adjusted ???? Thank you. Luigi.
ОтветитьGrounding ?
ОтветитьThis video is ON POINT. I just installed my new ZW EMG's and followed the video, a couple of hours later. Bingo Bango!!! My Les Paul Custom sounds amazing!!! Didnt even crack open the instruction booklet. Great vid!!!
ОтветитьDoes a gibson explorer also need long shaft pods?
ОтветитьSloppy guitar tech... can tell you from a luthier mindset, that fool would not be working on any valuable instrument. Hell not even my cheaper instruments for that matter!
ОтветитьI put these in my Les Paul. Sounds awesome but my action is off now. The strings aren't hitting the pick-ups so I have no idea how it happened.
Ответитьthank you for this if i want to replace pick ups in my guitar (already with EMG pick ups) i can do it in few minuts without burning my house
ОтветитьThanks for letting the me know the string grounding is not required for active pickups
ОтветитьCan I simply use one tone for both pickups? My LTD only has 3 knobs thats why I ask
ОтветитьThis would have been extremely easy for me to do on my Gibson SG Gothic Morte, but the "Stereo Output Jack" is too short to fit all the way through the body. There is no EMG option one can even order. I have to use the Gibson one, which does not connect the same, and will require me to solder, something I'm terrible at. :(
ОтветитьHas anybody reversed the pickups silver in the neck and gold in the bridge
ОтветитьI love EMG pickups but those look horrible in that sunburst Les Paul.
ОтветитьI'm sold.
ОтветитьThe bob ross of guitar pickups
ОтветитьCould u put these in a prs???
ОтветитьLol i didn’t know that les Paul’s has all this weird stuff, I got it for my SG 😅😅😅
ОтветитьYou just ruined a perfectly great Gibson Guitar! You would have been better to install two positions pots for phase variations on the pick-ups! Also a 24 volt power supply for the active pick-ups! The original PAFs are so much better tone wise! Reissue 59s by Gibson would be the best selection! Wanna sell the OE pickups and OE pots? No, I don't blame you. You'll be putting them back in!!!! LMAO 😂 ✌🏻
ОтветитьHow do you do this if you have a 3 way selector switch??
ОтветитьOk, I bought a EMG 57 it came with solderless wiring setup. Up until my soldered system crapped I switched to the provided solderless assuming it’d be great. Unfortunately it sounds muffled unlike previous setup. I followed instructions verbatim but it still lacks the high end tone you’d expect. To get a sense of what I’m saying, the guitar tone sounds like the tone knob is rolled back completely but it isn’t. What is the problem here? Any suggestions?
ОтветитьCould you use your own output jack with that?
Ответить
