Rainbow Factory reference in My Little Pony!

With any other show, this would just be a funny coincidence. But this show in particular was unnaturally in tune with its fandom.

There'd also a direct reference during the finale for Season 8, lightning and all.

I think it's a rainbow factory reference but I think that they just wanted to make a tribute to the creator of the song and to the fanbase in general, and not that it's actually canon... At least I hope so because this would ruin my childhood 🥲

I dont know how long episodes are in production, and when the score would have been done, but that's plenty of time for the song to have blown up and been seen by the crew, and put in the episodes, surely.

I was always just thrown off enough to think its following the standard, spy movie infiltration beat. But, like with all things, even with how close all the beats would be together, this is the only time they used that beat for this instance so, it's likely.

I feel proud to actually getting this reference back in the day. I didn't achieve much in life, but this is actually something I feel free to be proud of XD

while there are a LOT of references to the fanbase in the show, this feels like a bit of a stretch, simply due to the fact that the music sounds like regular old 'spy/ mission impossible' music. but you never know i guess

MLP:FIM was always SUPER connected with it's fanbase and constantly sprinkled in little references and downright made some fanmade things canon, so while this isn't super surprising it's still amazing!
