Sorry but the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Appalachians are # 9 in age at 1.2 billion yrs old and # 1 is Makhonjwa Mountains in the Barberton Greenstone Belt at 3.5 billion yrs.

Something else strange about WV, Canaan Valley has a climate like tundra. Other than the actual tundra, Canaan (sounds like cah-nane) Valley is the only other place on Earth with climate like that.

EDIT: forgot to mention, Canaan Valley has a lot of flora that only grows in tundra. It's a strange, beautiful place.

I love the story's on Cryptids, Sasquatch and UFO sightings. I have been telling my family's story on my channel if anyone is interested.
