😅Sorry I have a small brain. In the video u say charge the battery back to 100% with out turning it on. Is it possible to charge the switch with out it turning on? I think when I habe it off and plug it in it turns on automatically

So, once I retrain my battery, is it ok to set the don't charge over 90% feature back on so I can preserve the life of the battery?

I mostly play my Nintendo Switch OLED model in TV mode, so I don’t think the battery should be an issue for me with Switch 2. Of course, I don’t have a Switch 2 (yet).

So when doing the battery retrain, should you be using the Switch 2 until it enters that forced sleep mode then recharging it, or should you be letting it hit that sleep mode then leaving undocked until the battery completes dies and THEN charging it?

I also noticed on Nintendo's website they also mention potentially turning it off then holding the volume buttons down while turning it back on as a potential fix, any tech info on how well this works as well?

"Training" the battery sounds sus because Li-ion doesn't have "memory" like NiCd or NiMHd batteries, but I can confirm, I was surprised by how fast my switch 2 loses charge (approx. 2.5 min per 1% with 100% brightness and 3.5 min with 50%) while just sitting in the menu. I decided to play until it fully discharges and when it came to 1% I was able to play Mario Cart World for at least 12 more minutes (which is much more demanding than the menu), maybe even slightly more. Thing is, the only parameter by which the controller can determine the Li-Ion cell charge is its voltage and this reading is mapped to which percentage to display. The software can misalign those values.

Do not drain your battery to 0 that is not how lithium works at all that technique is for older batteries, lithium is best to keep between 20 and 80 percent

I'd say the MIG Switch issue is more likely due to Nintendo recognising the cartridge ID or something that all of them have, and blacklisting it so it doesn't load on Switch 2. They've been doing this for years - the Action Replay disc for Gamecube doesn't load on an original Wii, for example.

After doing this process, I am not getting a battery life of two hours and 30 minutes on Mario kart from 100% battery or estimated more than two hours 90% battery to 0

Hold the R button during gamecube start up and get the different sound opening.

Played Mario Kart World for 5 hours straight with my boyfriend in table top mode, and it went from 90 % down to 14 %.

Haven’t even bothered with Mario kart world. Have been spamming totk playing a new save file and it is so glorious

Hey, I love your channel and appreciate the content. I just want to mention that your information on retraining your batteries is not correct. That is not how lithium ion batteries work. We repair lithium ion battery devices in our business and draining the batteries completely and recharging twice will not fix bad batteries. It’s actually considered bad for your battery to drain the battery completely as it can damage the cells.

We aren’t more of you guys reporting on how bad the screen scratches just from docking it this plastic film they put on is completely garbage and can scratch just from putting it into the dock. Not to mention there’s lots of people that are reporting sauces with there screen right out of the box and I’m not talking about the GameStop staple issue

Do you have to do this a couple times in a row or does it not matter so long as you do it more than once?
Say, you can’t repeat this process all day cause you have things to do. But say that you can repeat the process at least once per day until the issue is solved. Does it matter if you repeat the process more than once in a whole day? Or can the issue still resolve itself if you only do it once a day?

I’m perfectly fine with the battery in the Switch 2. The ROG Ally X and Lenovo Legion Go both have the same battery life when maxing out games and they cost almost double the price of the Switch 2. I only get 70 minutes of battery when playing Red Dead 2 on my ROG Ally z1. Running ANY graphically demanding games on ANY handheld will result in bad battery life. We’re obviously not there yet when it comes to battery technology. Everyone knows this already.
