Warthunder kindof makes me think, most of the experience we have with modern war machines are against guerilla forces and militias. But, the sheer quantity of things with guided missiles and advanced radar on a modern conventional battlefield makes me think; if two modern major military powers went to war, would being a helicopter pilot be seen as suicidal?

I get that against combatants with RPGs and the occasional stinger, helicopters reign supreme. But what about against enemies with SPAA, armed with SAMs? Can helicopters reliably avoid being shot down, while also fulfilling their duties against SPAA?

It's okay to say that the Abrams is underpowered in War Thunder. After all, Russian MBTs have a specific feature that allows them to take hits to the ammo and not die.

That first match, you should have turned your hull to face those enemies on your left flank instead of sitting side-on in front of them. That's what got you killed. Remember; thickest armor towards the threat! That is just basic tanker 101 stuff.

The SEP should have better armor in the turret and hull front, but they just conveniently didn’t add that

i suppose all the main MBTs are roughly the same size, bar the Russians whioch are much smaller and the rather TITANIC Challenger 2, which in TES spec weighs night on 80tonnes, which makes it the heaviest armour fighting vehicle ever deployred in active service, the record was previously held the the Damn Jagtiger from WW2, it held it for around 78 years, just about its own weight funnily enough xD

The dmg model on the M1A1 and M1A2 has always been a little wonky, but overall i love Abrams, i do most of my best games in them when i dont get killed by choppers or planes. The Tusk ERA plates on the side of the new SEP M1A2 was really good in beta in fact it originally was able to block 120mm of kinetic energy rounds and it was outperforming all other tanks at top tier surviving side shots that would kill most MBTs, so Gaijin hit it with a nerf bat purposefully reducing the Kinetic energy round block to 20mm instead of the 120mm. Now its slightly armored M1A2 instead of a game changer, wish they would hit the BVM with the same ERA nerf bat that hit the M1A2 SEP.

Trick with the LAV is you don't use it at all. If you are forced to use it then its range is mediocre and provides only close range air defense.
For MBT's you need to aim center mass RIGHT UNDER the turret and on the driver port. Knowing the crews location and ammunition location will turn you into a surgeon that 1 hit kills enemies. Different MBT can have different weak spots. ADATS is a anti air anti tank weapon but Gaijin has nerfed the explosive damage to it's rockets. Different air defense weapons have different effective range. M1A2 SEP .... DON'T USE TUSK. Its just makes you heavier with a larger hit box profile. Good luck.

It's missing the Depleted Uranium inserts. If we get the SEP v3 or v4 we should also get Trophy APS.

M1A2 Sep is missing next gen DU plates.

It has the same armor profile in game as the base M1A2, which is itself missing first gen DU plates.

You should try the Japanese Type 10 MBT if you can, it may not have as much armor as the Abrams but it has a secret weapon, it's loading time, combined with it's good penetration, great thermals, hydropneumatic suspension and good mobility it's a good tank.

What is sad about the Type 10 is the fact that it lacks alot of armor.

The adats missiles is all purpose, it's for destroying aircraft and tanks

it's a SEPv1 modeled incorrectly.

You should use the M1A1 AIM, M1A1 HC, M1A2 and SEP's MPAT or M830A1 which has a 10 meter proximity fuse for low flying helicopters. Also the ADATS the SAM you were using has missiles that pen 900 mm so you can use it against MBTs.

Try the T-72 Turms next. That reverse speed is its secret weapon. It does look cool though.
