This is NOT "NEW" REsearch. This is HIDDEN information deliberately kept from us. And, lots more truths will come to light as time go by. The TRUTH behind this reality is...Britain should be held responsible for all the EVIL she had done

Shall we do a video on british inventions such as antibiotics or the hypodermic needle and how these inventions saved more lives than literally anything in the history of the human race? 🤔

Nah lets skip that one. That wouldn't fit very well with our narrative, would it?

I wonder also what the cultural effects were. I come from Eastern Europe where putting a lot of food on the table is often seen as a consequence of past privations,

So diabetes is now due to colonialism? I would counter with the fact that most Indians are vegetarian and therefore only eat carbohydrates. A lifetime of only eating carbohydrates is bound to give you type 2 diabetes. There are many countries which have experienced famine (China during the great leap forward and Ukraine during the Holodomor) but due to the fact that their people eat meat as a standard part of their diet ensures that the rates of diabetes aren't as high as those on the Indian subcontinent.

Thank you for this documentary. Britain just continues to get exposed for its historical and ongoing racist and colonial ideology and tactics. Britain then thinks it has the right to lecture other countries on their human rights.

A couple of counterpoints:

- The United States has one of the highest prevalences of diabetes in the world, despite having no history of famine.
- Within the United States there are racial differences in the prevalence of diabetes, which cannot properly be explained by famine: Hispanics and Native Americans have much higher rates than whites.
- It's ridiculous to blame all India's famines on Britain. Some were exacerbated by British policies, yes. But for balance look at the history of China, which had just as many major famines in the same time period, despite never being colonised.
- Additionally, nearly all of India's famines were over three generations ago, and few overlap with each other (meaning the same population were repeatedly exposed).
- Further, India still has relatively high levels of malnutrition today. Though it is falling this shows that historical famines are less likely to be a cause of higher prevalence of diabetes than modern diet, and also that Britain was less the propagator than claimed in this video.

Thank you for this informative episode. I don’t think many doctors in the US are cognizant of these epigenetic effects and automatically assume that a South Asian diabetic patient must be making unhealthy diet choices, offering no sympathy for the fact that they bear the legacy of colonialism

This explanation risk of being misunderstood by potential and current diabetes patients. This disease requires knowledge and will in tuning one's lifestyle. By saying that ita hereditary, the patient might accept his/her supposed fate and continue the unhealthy lifestyle. Where as this disease is easily avoidable without any medication at all.

An interesting video with no maths shown. We need experts to research fully. Saying there was a recorded XX number of famines, well it's recorded. I'm not sure it was so well recorded 2,000 years ago... It's interesting there's no mention of the numbers of those famines, and their effects. Please also note "The British" really means the ruling classes making the decisions, not normal working class folks.

More scientific research is welcomed 👍
