Unfortunately $50-k in America will not go very far but in the Philippines 🇵🇭 it will last longer.
ОтветитьIf you are going to live overseas, you have got to have an income. A good, steady guaranteed income. You can not do it on savings alone. Unless you are a multimillionaire, 500k ain't gonna cut it. You have to plan for things like taxes, things to go wrong, things to break, illnesses, travel, insurance, theft, stock market crash, and just plan stupidity. And that's just your end. If you have a wife/girlfriend, then it's double.
I live overseas and it is not as easy as you might think or have been lead to believe.
Well said
ОтветитьYou will not go too far with women who are nothing, but pocket-mates. #1 Don't marry; It makes no sense. Just rent.
ОтветитьOne thing I really noticed that you don't see large age gap relationship up north not like the central or southern Philippines where you will meet the poor girls that will give you the family problems
ОтветитьPart of the problem is that in America it’s so hard for the younger generation to meet, interact or date with any woman these days. They just don’t have enough experience with women bc of social media. Doesn’t matter where you go, if you don’t have enough experiences with women you’re going to get rolled. They know what they’re doing in every country. You need experience no matter where you are or where you go.
ОтветитьNice video.
Ответитьtalking about disabled vets and sayiing...you'd never know it to look at them...is apallingly ignorant. The emotional trauma of combat, can not be overstated. Just lost a sub for that one
Ответить50K is absolutely nothing. I could see maybe 500K work but even that is rolling the dice. A million in cash/investments is probably a good amount.
ОтветитьGood advice for all.
ОтветитьGreat advice!
ОтветитьThe "that will never happen to me" mentality is foolish. Poor planning. Appreciate the vlog. All the best to you, Jen, and Rogan.
ОтветитьMore proof that economics is not taught in school.
ОтветитьI love the grounded reality of this channel!!
Retirement took a toll on my finances, but I am so excited with my involvement in the digital market. $110k monthly has been life changing. Regardless of how bad it gets on the economy.
Now you have decided to buy some furniture for your house after living in a empty house for years.
ОтветитьUnder 40 man here who is a big fan. Been in Philippines 1.5 years thanks to your advice and Mr Reekays. Travel nurse from the US. If you listen to those who have done what you want to do and put in the hard work, it's 100% possible
ОтветитьI'm one of those younger folks in your algorithms. My first trip to the Philippines was at age 24. I'm now 32 and married to a wonderful Filipina and we live stateside. I'd been fortunate enough to have already been working my career job at the time I first decided to venture to the Philippines and saw the value of earning in my home country. I'd had a fair amount of dating experience in America already (enough to know that I did not want any more.) "Surviving or "making a go" of the Philippines was never a thought, though I can see very much how it could cross others minds. It's paradise ! This is Sound advice Mark. I really didn't start to grasp the culture up until the last few years and 9th visit. It takes many trips to gain familiarity. I've seen these folks you are talking about. Not everybody can be an Influencer but some can. Also very hard to run a business in the PI as a foreigner, esp in the Provinces. They don't make it easy and sometimes it can get nasty. My two cents worth: Don't fall for the first girl you meet. Take your time, dont rush. Do not listen to the bitter guys who says don't bring them here, they will turn westernized and leave you. Yes it happens, but not to all. We have a solid happy friend group here of people that are living good lives with their spouses. The key, is to find the right one who wants the same things in life. My wife and I both are focused on building our careers first and building up that warchest. Early retirement in Paradise with our pensions/emergency fund/investments is the end goal. Take a good long vacation every few years and work to the finish line. Don't jump ship too early.
ОтветитьJohn McCain collected 100% disability from the military.
ОтветитьDown trodden ?
I was medically retired in 1975 with a mental disability. I couldn't, and didn't have any conversation with another human being for 40 years until May 10th, of 2017 when God healed me. When I could control my own thoughts, I saw for the first time what had happened to me. I was hurt angry and disappointed. I was screaming, crying angry everyday for over 6 years , imagining what my life might have been , if I had had an opportunity to have a life.
For almost a year now, I suppose I'm almost "normal" , but beat down by life at every turn almost every day I've lived, so I'm not very optimistic about the "wonders of life" I'm going to experience at 72 years of age. Even if I was , I can't join any conversation about BS , so I still don't talk to anybody.
It's great to meet people with similar life experiences. There aren't other people on this planet with a similar experience.
I am feeling a bit down trodden.
I am 41 but never had issues dating. Maybe my genetics because I am 6'2. Dating anywhere in world has been pretty easy. Not sure why many guys struggle my age. Get off your butts, get to gym, be relevant.

ОтветитьStill have a house there being rented out but life there is a lot harder for most people than used to be like anywhere else. Things were a lot better then.
ОтветитьMaybe these young guys can go to college on that inheritance and get a good job in the US. As a vet, you have even more college benefits. Women like men who can hold a good, steady job with benefits. It's not that hard.

ОтветитьThe DV dudes are running a huge scam in the US too.
ОтветитьGood advice. I live in Thailand. I live in an older condo in Pattaya (a 5-minute scooter ride to the beach). It is all concrete, so the rooms are quiet (I have a video of the condo). I am on the ninth floor, so the sunsets are great, and I do not have much trouble with mosquitoes or road noise. We have a large pool with a slide. There is a restaurant by the pool; most meals are 3-7 dollars. My rent is $207/month. I have a new wall unit A/C, that I run 24/7 and my electric bill is $30/month. My room is 270 square feet or 30 square meters. It has plenty of room for a single guy.
ОтветитьYou're talking 40year olds???? Hahahha
ОтветитьHi Mark, I just arrived in duma yesterday. I might stay here until mid January, not sure. Did you mention in a recent video that you do not use your motorbike smush or at all since the baby? Would you rent it for a few days, would it be better for me to rent at hey dudz? Don’t know anything about these small motorbikes, any suggestions? Thanks, Carl
ОтветитьWho quits a good career in the West before retirement age and moves abroad with no job? Either they had lousy jobs or they’re escaping something. Otherwise why so desperate to leave their own country. Some guys need to come to terms with their bad decisions.
ОтветитьOnly a nincompoop would travel thousands of miles away from home, to a country to become destitute, for what! To chase some random flat nose Filipina! 💀
ОтветитьUnless you are working for an American Interest or Military .Contributing to your entitlements, building your resume, building an empire and are recognized, South East Asia is not where You should be spending your earner years.Spending your off time there is fine. Be a street vendor and make local income… A Ken like Barbie of Siargao.
ОтветитьExpat is just another way of saying you're a failure with the opposite sex in the U.S., have a low-paying job, and think you'll get lucky in the Philippines.
ОтветитьThey run they whole life man. Trying to escape responsibility, and go there and nothing changes lol jus wild to see
ОтветитьThey must be doing something terribly wrong. It sounded like you could live as cheap as like $500 a month in some provinces. Even $2k a month isnt bad. Im amazed they didnt come over with decent amount of assets or income.
ОтветитьYou just cant do it on less than $2000 for a single guy. For a family youll need another $1000 more. If you dont have that you can survive but it wont be comfortable i guarantee that.
ОтветитьZero sympathy. You couldn’t build a machine to measure my indifference to this so-called problem.
ОтветитьNo excuse
