This is definetly the Testamentum of music at all. This recording is not very fast. Since Gardiner in 1990, Harnoncourt live in 1985, Herweghe et al. this is a good normal. Modern Bach interpretation discusses very much about higher tempo to make the structure and the harmony in context clearer.

Zweifellos eine unfassbar großartige Komposition. Klingt aber in der Phrasiering etc. verglichen mit heutiger Aufführungspraxis geradezu hölzern buchstabiert.

Wie erschütternd , diese Musik in der heutigen Zeit zu hören… es ist, als ob Bach eine Vorhersehung über die Geschichte der Menschheit bis in die Gegenwart ahnte
