If you're looking for a nice piece of jazzy music from a video game (not necessarily a chiptune), I highly recommend "Jack Orlando".
ОтветитьBack in the day I knew the soundtrack was fire but I don't think I fully appreciated how much work had gone into creating this masterpiece.
ОтветитьThese chords are excellent! I used to reproduce some of these crazy tracks, that is my dope! :D Cheers from France! 🦔
ОтветитьAs good as this soundtrack is, i have to disagree. Killer instinct gold main theme is THE greatest video game ost of the 90's , in fact, possibly the greatest of all time!
ОтветитьMan, I always loved this soundtrack, but seeing you going nuts and enjoying yourself so much is so, so good. I was exactly like you when I heard it first time. So heartwarming.
ОтветитьVery late to the game ..next you'll be checking out follins beeper music
ОтветитьIt's even crazier when you think about the fact that the Genesis was notorious for having such a bad sound design on a lot of games compared to the SNES, but this game just gave a lesson to everyone pretty much
ОтветитьSoR 2 is one of my favorite games from childhood. It was one of the first video games I played next to sonic. I still come back to the music. Yuzo Koshiro also did music for Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune a really cool arcade racing game. The title intro/final stage song and Expander from the second half of stage 7 are so good. The music just fits the stage and the boss fight so well. The title track has so much nostalgia. Also Stage 4 in the baseball park and the jungle base level. it's all so good.
ОтветитьYuzo was way ahead of his time.
Ответитьit was so fun watching you discover the music of my childhood. I played this game so many times with my dad when i was a kid. one of my all time favorite games and soundtracks.
ОтветитьYou should do streets of rage 1 also it had great soundtrack. Streets of rage 3 was really different also.
ОтветитьA kid in the 90s, my favorite thing about running errands or going on family road trips was the gas stations, laundromat, other stores etc. They always had the arcade machines. Hearing this reminds me of that
ОтветитьGreat video and mention. I'm feeling old, but let me correct you on the game's popularity:
You compare it to "other games of it's time" like Mario or games in the Nintendo system.
1. The Sega Genesis was as popular as the Super Nes. It was very much a 50/50 split (at least perceived by me, living at the time).
2. If you compare it to Genesis most popular game, Sonic, then yeah, it wasn't as popular. But it's probably within the 0.1% of most popular games for the Genesis. IT WAS VERY POPULAR AND WELL KNOW, like Golden Axe, Road Rash, Street Fighter, Altered Beast, Moonwalker, Mortal Kombat, etc.
I don't know how old you are, but we don't look that far apart in age. Maybe ask an older brother or cousin that had the Genesis instead of the Snes, they probably played the s*** out of the Streets of Rage series 😉
i remember playing this game on MAME32 (cant remember if i ever played it on arcades) then me playing "music 2000". The thing is that i created a song which sounds like this one but i forgot for this for like 22 years.
ОтветитьNever Return Alive is the goat. Change my mind.
ОтветитьIt's my favourite game on the Mega Drive and a huge part of that was the soundtrack. I appreciate it even more today than I did 30 years ago.
Seeing your reactions to it along with the breakdowns really fills me with nostalgia. You could have taken this to 15 or 20 minutes and you still would have my undivided attention.
Has he done music from Super Mario 3D World?
I'd love to see him analyze music like World Bowser, Hisstocrat, and Chainlink Charge
I grew up playing Streets of Rage, 1 and 2 have the best soundtracks
ОтветитьThe streets of rage games had the best soundtracks, especially 1 and 2
ОтветитьStreets of Rage is one of the GOATS!
ОтветитьI’ve been nerding out over this soundtrack since the game came out, and I was 7 years old! It’s so refreshing to see someone else nerd out on this!
ОтветитьYuzo = modern genius. Insanely talented composer
ОтветитьInner city good life the first track❤
ОтветитьThe soundtrack for the streets of rage series is literally some of the best in video game history I’m glad others realize it’s greatness.
ОтветитьI have this and first SOR soundtrack. Absolutely hype music!
Ответитьlove this bro imagine listenin to the SOR4 sound track
ОтветитьCharles, the best part is the music fits the game even better. The first 4 levels build to the elevator underground. Then the next 4 levels build to the elevator at stages 7/8. Two separate progressive sections the build to the games finish.
ОтветитьSonic The Hedgehog 2 is another classic gaming soundtrack for it’s 16-bit limitations
ОтветитьNot enough people talk about the music in Streets of Rage 1. It doesn't go quite as hard, but some of the songs are amazing. Dilapidated Town is one of my all time favourite VGM tracks.
ОтветитьI played it when I was a kid. I always loved the intro but I never beat it. My brother did.
ОтветитьNOT FOR RESALE!!!
ОтветитьI've always said this soundtrack was the best created, in addition to Super Mario brothers AND Sonic the Hedgehog!!!!!!
ОтветитьCringe
ОтветитьNow go into another gen later on to the PlayStation 1 and listen to the soundtrack to castlevania symphony of the night. That is one of the greatest of all time and the composer is insanely great. Michiru yamane
ОтветитьEven as a Super Nintendo kid back then, I knew about (and was jealous of) Streets of Rage 2.
For anyone who's interested, Yuzo Koshiro is currently making a new Sega Genesis game called Earthion, and based on the preview videos the soundtrack already slaps. Due to release summer 2024.
Per request, look up both Actraiser I & II, both were done by Yuzo Koshiro.
ОтветитьI’ll give you a d major in your mouth
ОтветитьI had a friend in the 90s that had a Sega and this game! This game and Golden Axe actually are THE games I associate with Sega, but I might be one of the rare ones.. hehe
ОтветитьStill play SoR to this day... prefer the first one though
ОтветитьYeah that game is fire 🔥. Theres alot of really good game OTS. Bomberman hero is really good also. The Japanese were a bit ahead of their time putting classic tracks in games. Jazzy tech hiphop rock style.
ОтветитьDreamer*
Max Man*
etc.
Wish you would listen to Yoshi's Island soundtrack please 😊
ОтветитьI loved this game as a kid and I KNEW without really understanding why that the music kicked ass!!! It was so crazy good music and of course the everything else was great too but the music. My oh my!
ОтветитьThe greatest beat-em-up of the 90's, with the greatest soundtrack ever too. I absolutely bloody loved this game back in the day. If you want to hear more Megadrive/Genesis music that'll blow you away, check out Thunderforce 3 and Thunderforce 4.
ОтветитьSir, Street of Rage 1 background music is the real
classic 😁😁😁
Naaahh you gotta do Street Of Rage 1 ! The soundtrack is so good.
ОтветитьThe music in this game slaps harder than Will Smith
