Just bought a 4K 65inch Google TV from Skyworth for about $500 USD. Was using a 40 inch RCA that I got for $12 bucks when I was living in dorm as a set with a mini fridge. Upgrade is an upgrade
ОтветитьMAP is price fixing at it's worst. It should be illegal.
Ответитьi wouldnt pay more than $400 for this thing 60hz oled wth is the point them smh and only god knows how bad the burn in will be
ОтветитьWhy sounds like chris rock in the beginning?🤣
ОтветитьI spent a couple of years as a Monitor Product Manager for one of the biggest PC sellers in the world and can say the dynamic mentioned is soooo true.
In Europe there is Lidl and Aldi who do specials 'Middle of Lidl' When they started to include electronics we're the in country Sales leads saying we couldn't compete with their same spec much lower priced offering.
We held firm and did not discount as it was a very short term offer.
They sold their special offer PC for a week and then the market went back to normal. Sales weren't happy until after the blip was over.
For context this was back in the big CRT era so pricing was all over the place.
Had a different one where we'd a range of monitors. Again back in the CRT era.
Budget/High End 15"
Budget High End 17"
Budget High End 19"
High End 21"
Global wanted to introduce a budget 21" which they did in North America.
I did not pick up the product in Europe as did not believe people at the time buying 21" months were as price sensitive as they are at the lower sizes. Small(er) market mainly where quality and fidelity were important.
After the launch in NA and no launch in Europe I ran the numbers and discovered when normalised the Budget 21" cannibalized the 21" Hugh End sales and didn't encourage any meaningful number of 19" buyers to move to 21".
NA Product Marketing doing high fives and congratulating each other on selling the new Budget 21" so well. While I knew they'd just reduced their overall profitability as the chances are most of the people would have paid the extra for the High End 21"
Finally loving the ship image. I'd 40,000 monitors get lost at sea in right storm. Were in container stacked on the deck of the cargo ship and the restraints snapped and slid into the ocean. Not nice being told you're down 40,000 of one of your most popular monitors.
Did LTT just name drop cowboy maloneys?
Ответитьdamn. that tv looked more real than our boy. Not cappin. Thats a bedroom tv. Not too bright? great.
ОтветитьI bought my last tv just for the image it produces and the price. I didn't care for smart things because they are shit mostly anyways or aren't supported after a while. Instead i just use a fireTV stick.
ОтветитьI'll use my 32" 2008 LG flat screen & 50" Sony flat screen until they burn out.
Still no signs of that yet 🙏
But can my dog watch it
Ответитьthanks
Ответитьno
ОтветитьI got this on sale and while the picture quality is great, just as good as LG, the OS is hot garbage. It’s slow, unresponsive, and laggy. If you have a tv stick you should be fine but even switching inputs go through the stock android tv os is slow as heck.
ОтветитьSony 65" or this?
ОтветитьLOL, you could get a SONY 55A80J for under 1000€ a while back.
Why would I want a NoName?
LG Monitors and Philips TVs are regularly on sale for 850€ or so.
FYI Skyworth make cars 😃
Ответитьtoo much overthinking here. It's simple. The 60 hz OLED panel LG developed was for purely a price point at the National Accounts and Clubs. Skyworth bought into the strategy and failed because its primary distribution was the regional accounts. Everyone selling the LG OLED TVs was against the sub-quality 60 hz panels and didn't want to dilute the PQ integrity of selling the premium picture an OLED 120 hz delivers. The result, clearance pricing. The price this reviewer is talking about is a close-out price... not a strategic price.
ОтветитьDo not buy any oled tv. Average lifespan 5 years. Yep 5 years. Mine just died. Very disappointed considering what I paid.
ОтветитьThat TV worths SKY ?
No. But its SkyWorth
I thought I was watching a TV review, but instead I got a masterclass in business.
ОтветитьI don't get this. It should be obvious you have to look at the test results. That's why you can find the difference between TCL and LG etc...
ОтветитьWoah, they paid for both the Dolby Vision AND the DTS licenses? Samsung, you're being made to look the fool here.
ОтветитьWhat could be the chances LG board would connect to that panel? Odds Lg display panels use the same configuration connector
Ответитьid rather a good QLED than a cheap OLED I think
ОтветитьI will stick with my pioneer plasmas thanks. OLEDS are for mugs who want to give their cash away 😂
Ответитьi was more than mildly interested in this until the retailers were listed.... ruuuuuuuuuuuuuun.
ОтветитьThis Udemy course on running a shop, is brought to you by Linus tech tips.
By the way instead of selling stupid beanies you should sell Linus branded mouse pads, USB sticks, maybe a case deal with some manufacturer basically anything that is actually tech related is probably a better concept although I’m sure has its problems.
WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE SHOW/MOVIE WITH THE GIRL SLEEPING ON ITS BELLY ON THE TV BACKGROUND ?
ОтветитьWho let Linus hold a controller in one hand so casually? I'm shocked while he was talking and waving it around, that he didn't end up throwing it with how often he drops things. Did you super glue it to his end for this shot? Lmao
Ответить100 nits would be a dealbreaker for me.
ОтветитьIn the states, TCL Roku TVs are dirt cheap but offer a surprisingly good performance. For what I use it for (console gaming and of course using my streaming services) I find no issues other than the reds being too hot out of the box. You can buy a lot of stupidly large TV for not a whole lot. Plus one outlived a Vizio and looked and performed over all better. And the Vizio was twice as much.
ОтветитьI bought a brand new Sony A80J for $800. Deal of the century tbh.
ОтветитьHere we have OLED TVs for around $380 at the local walmart
ОтветитьOr China owns them and they want their devices in American homes
ОтветитьNow i could get a 48 inch c2 for 900 summod dollars
ОтветитьI got my lg a1 48" for $500
ОтветитьThing i dont get is how xiaomi have oled phones for under 150usd and manufacturers are not able to sell 24 inch oled monitors. GOSH burning? do you know how manuy years i have with my xiaomi 11? and not a single ghosting line?
ОтветитьEven when Linus does not actually DROP anything, he will gesticulate violently, and while holding an object that he could release at high speed, in front of delicate equipment. Why has he not been arrested yet? WHY?
ОтветитьI worked as a manager in a Nike store around 10 years ago. The price we usually stocked shelves on is 30% of the actual price, so we can do a 70% discount without losing money. With tech it is a bit different, because you are not making everything on-site, you have suppliers of different parts. But still, manufacturers rarely sell at a loss on their brand new products. Most of the time it is a product 1-2-3 generations old that was sitting on a shelve waiting to be sold.
ОтветитьI hate how you always review budget friendly products just as hard as high quality products. Yeah obviously a cheap tv will have an unresponsive remote that's why its cheap
ОтветитьLinus... You're critiquing Dolby ATMOS capabilities of a BUDGET tv. (That's like a champagne cooler in a Honda Civic; it's nice... but I won't be using that)
EDIT: I stand corrected - Linus made the exact point I wrote above in the very next sentence in the video
Love the supply chain lesson, btw. Thank you for that. I knew some luxury brands did that - (that's why Dior is NEVER 'on Sale'; there can only be 'special offers' where they make a smaller bottle in a gift pack) - but it makes sense for every kind of branded item.
I think that's also why brands make one-off models of TVs, specifically for a certain offer (say at Wal-Mart or something).
That way their normal retail models never have a dip in their pricing history
LTT Store, consistently overpriced. 🤣
ОтветитьI put forward another business plan, cut retailer #1 and #2, they are a liability, and either market through other retailers or sell directly and take the entire profit yourself, helping to reduce the margins your retail price is impacted by.
ОтветитьInteresting tale about high end brands sinking in the market - but after the first load of products that the manufacturer let’s go as a promo to get them sold and keep the vendors on side - why not just rebrand the product - change the product numbers and maybe the colour or placement of something inconsequential and stick with the original high-end or higher price for that product - after all you have gone to some trouble doing a bit of retooling and re-boxing. Screw the vendors and the public - suckers with deep pockets and a early adopter addiction will buy anything. They always think they have the best based on brand name, latest version and price.
ОтветитьCame for a lesson in cheap panels. Left with that, plus a lesson in B2B economics. Nice
Ответить10/10 ad pivot
ОтветитьSitting here with my LG C2 that I got for $899. I'd still rather pay more for a proven brand than get some shady Chinese product. You don't buy OLED to save money. You do it for the best visual experience you can get.
Ответить
