This one reminds me of a story that I had been writing about a guy and his life’s eras of what happened to him from the late twenties on into the fifties.A man that had to be a loner not by choice but this song connects with the part where he’s rescued by a woman and she and he rides a bike to her place in the country,upon riding up the road to her house, there’s chickens clucking and it’s at a cute two story farm house,...unfortunately she’s married and had to explain to her farmer husband,...

I played this song for a youngster at night at Lowlands music festival 2024.. For real. Because I adore it and it makes me cry (which means letting go and losing up).. Fantastic song!! ❤..

Just remembered how good he was

I remember watching him live at one of the smallest venues he has probably played in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in the mid 80s. I think he was going to a bigger venue in Bahrain. Aramco probably paid well and so he dropped off there on the way. Orchard Road is my favourite song but he sang a lot of great songs so I hope he is well and happy and keep on singing!

Such an emotional song. I love it so much when couples get back together again. I have had this happen to me, way before this song came out - but I know that feeling when couples reconnect. It's so overwhelming.

My family was driving across the Nullarbor in 1983 and this song was being played by every station we tuned into. Mum and dad had just a few months before come back from a holiday in Singapore, and they loved this song because they stayed on the famous Orchard Road in Singapore. I would do anything for a time machine to just go back to these times.

This is when music had soul, this is a beautiful ballad.

Whether you like Sayer as an artist or not, it can't be denied he had such a fabulous voice.

Although it's not related, it reminds me of my time in Singapore and Malaya (apologies if it's still Malaysia) I was there when Singapore broke away......

I remember being alone and really sick with a high fever, then this song came on the radio and I felt amazingly better. It kept playing over my mind and gave me a boost.
