That speech at the beginning I think it’s Geralt talking to Ciri but it works for the both situations, great trailer I’m hyped for this

Fun fact, that line about "There's no gods, only monsters." Mirrors Geralts trailer line when questioned why he attacked a group of men about to kill a woman, they ask "Wha-what are you doing?!" Gerald responds "Killing Monsters."

I mean, it's CDPR. This announcement trailer means you've got about 5-50 years until 4, lol.

The "small" amount of hours you play games, you will most likely be finished with W3 the wild hunt + 2 dlc's by the time W4 comes out.W3 is a masterpiece of epic porpotions W4 went into full production about 2 weeks ago , and they have been working on it since 2022 and moved almost everybody over after they finished cyberpunk dlc the Phantom liberty and now have 400+ ppl working on it ohh and btw it is 3 years ago since you saw the W3 a night to remember " and yo uwrote this We tried The Witcher on Netflix with Henry Cavill and couldn't get into it. dont watch the witcher show its not connon to games or books in any way same as the first 2 games are only loosely connected to the books and third is right after 2nd but with most book characters at least mentioned so

Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, called Ciri for short, is the granddaughter of the Queen of Cintra - Calanthe Daughter of the Emperor of Nilfgard , Geralt's adoptive daughter, carrier of the Elder Blood gene, once a sorceress, later a bandit and optionally (depending on the player's choices in The Witcher 3) the Empress of Nilfgaard or the Witcher. Called various nicknames, such as Zireael - Swallow , Lady of the Lake, Lion Cub of Cintra, or Lady of Times and Places (because her genes allow her to travel anyplace and in time).
Once, Geralt was tasked by Queen Calanthe to kill the suitor for her daughter Pavetta's hand in marriage. To whom it was promised for saving her husband's life. Promised by the so-called 'Law of Surprise' - "You will give me what you find at home and what you don't know yet." Upon his return, the King learned that Calathe was pregnant. The problem was that the suitor was cursed - during the day he had the face of a hedgehog. Pavetta loved him anyway and had been secretly sleeping with him for a year. Instead of killing him, Geralt saved them and helped break the curse. In return, Mr. Hedgehog wanted him to get some reward. Then Geralt used exactly the same law of surprise - "You will give me what you have and you don't know it yet." It turned out that Pavetta was also pregnant. In this way, Geralt and Ciri were bound by fate. Geralt wanted to give up on Ciri, which is why he never returned to Cintra. Despite everything, fate led them to meet in the Brokylon forest, where Geralt loved her like a daughter and she loved him like a father. The dryads - guardians and inhabitants of this forest wanted to turn her into another one of them, but the water of transformation did not work on Ciri because of the bond of destiny between her and Geralt. Geralt took her to Cintra. However, perhaps a year later, the Nilfgard Empire invaded Cintra, which massacred the inhabitants of the castle and the manor.
Ciri escaped from Cintra at the age of 11, she was able to survive murderous long journeys, hunger, cold, dangers and hide from those who were chasing her. Geralt also tried to find her. But the ongoing war didn't help much. At one point he was afraid that Ciri was already dead and once for free he decided to save a merchant returning to his family from monsters. However, he was severely wounded and had a long recovery in the merchant's wagon. The merchant took him to his home, even promising him a son (witchers took children to turn them into witchers), but on arrival it turned out that one of the children was Ciri. There were famous words:
Ciri- "I knew you would find me. After all, I am your destiny"
Geralt- "You are more than that." It was a story of only 2 books, and the entire story of Geralt and Ciri fits into 7.
The entire story of the saga is too long to write, but this was their beginning. In the next 5 books, she briefly acquired the knowledge and swordsmanship of witchers, the attitudes of magic, and mastered her ability to teleport in place and time. Her father turned out to be alive and he is the emperor of the invaders from Nilfgard. It was his plan to impregnate Pavette, who was also a descendant of the older blood, in order to gain and use Ciri's powers.. At the end of the book, Cirilla disappeared from Geralt's world to another using her powers at the age of 15/16.
She back 5-6 years later in the game The Witcher 3.

And yes! I've been a psycho fan of The Witcher from Poland since 2001, before the games even came out.

“Humans are the real monsters” could be the central theme of the original Witcher novels. The beasts of the dark woods—whether monsters of fantasy or ordinary wolves—just want to survive, it’s people who hurt others simply because they want to.

Of course in many fantasy settings monsters can think or hurt others for fun as well so that kinda messes with things.

Whilst it isn't essential to your enjoyment of Witcher 3, I can still highly recommend you play Witcher 2 first. It is a much shorter game, and it helps to set up several plot points that will also be relevent in Witcher 3. Its just a suggestion, though.

I'm very much looking forward to your playthrough of Witcher 3 (I've beat it twice and am on my 3rd playthrough atm, plus the expansions).
The expansions are very much worth it especially blood and wine.

I saw "CD Projekt Red presents" and somehow knew it could only be "The Witcher 4", and the Trailer blews me away ... I hope they make it great, also in a good technical condition, not like Cyberpunk2077 at the beginning ^.^

Geralt is definitely calmer and more collected because due to his witcher mutations he is almost 100 by the time Witcher 3 starts, Ciri however doesn't have witcher mutations and she looks early to mid 30s in the trailer, so she is definitely not as experienced. The only thing I'm confused about is Ciri took a potion and witcher potions are extremely toxic and possibly deadly to normal humans.

It's just an announcement. Witcher 4 will probably release in 2027

As far as I've seen, a developer interview apparently stated a release date for Witcher 4 is possibly 2027, but regardless, you should have plenty of time to get through Witcher 3.

That was Cat. The potion she drank. It allows witchers to see in the dark. The witcher woman is Ciri. Ciri is Geralt's adopted daughter, who might become a witcher as one of the potential endings of Witcher 3. So it looks like they are making the Ciri becomes a witcher as canon of the game lore.

Besides, witchers were taught not to meddle in people's affairs, so he often looks so cold
Cyril becomes a witcher in adulthood, so of course she has to show emotions differently

That's Ciri, she's kind of a daughter/disciple of Geralt. Geralt in the games is calm because he's seasoned and has a ton of experience.

she's ciri... the adopted daughter of geralt. she much more vulnerable than geralt as she hasnt had the mega mutations geralt has but she has a different type of power .. that i won't go into for spoiler reasons. geralt is a unique witcher and so is ciri

This isn't necessarily contradiction, but Ciri has definitely seen a lot even before becoming a Witcher. The show and Witcher 3 can touch on the details but she's spent a lot of her life on the run and not even able to properly fight back. It's nice to see her being able to actually walk her own path and have the agency to push back on the inevitable adversity.

Ciri is arguably the centre of the novels and of the Witcher 3 even though Geralt is the main protagonist of both. If you play W3 you'll get to learn a lot about her.
