idk why he moves like a robot with a collection of example 10 facial expresses that are predictable. I've never seen this before the majority just talk naturally
ОтветитьLove how samurai armor had belt-in beards.
ОтветитьThe only problem I had with the movie is the bad guy Omura, his #1 henchman had that birthmark stain on his face. That was obviously done for Western audiences so you would know when he shows up later (the 4 on 1 fight scene near the end of the movie)
Ответить😎😎😎😎😎😍😍😍😍😍
ОтветитьIt's a shame that Sakamoto Ryōma's attitude of japanese tradition with western technology didn't have a greater influence.
ОтветитьI heavily agree with you...... Saigo Tatsumori was the true Last Samurai.
ОтветитьI dont know this channel but before i watch i will say... this movie is amazing
ОтветитьPlease review Godzila Minus One next !!!!
Ответитьthis movie is great. and besides, the movoe is fictional.
ot isn't trying to be a biopic or documentary of an actual real historical figure.
but it is inspired by some historical figures, of course.
still, the movie is amazing. as a drama and action. and the movie also shows a lot of respect by having real Japanese actors speaking Japanese and showing real Bushido and Japanese traditional culture.
I have gotten everything I wanted from this film. to feel entertained and also appreciate Japan even more.
Yamaguch i though that was captain of Japanes battleship Yamato
ОтветитьThis is probably sad to say but The Last Samurai is why I fell in love with the Japanese language. To me it sounds incredibly beautiful.
ОтветитьIf you think it is impossible to defeat soldiers armed with rifles with bows and arrows, you would be horribly mistaken. Just look at a battle referenced in the movie. Custer's last stand. While rifles were certainly used on both sides, there were definitely more bows and arrows used.
ОтветитьPlease review The Lone Wolf and Cub movies.
Ответить13 Assassins gets my vote 🙏🥷
ОтветитьSamurai actually were big fans of firearms and used them extensively because they were not dumbf***s. They understood all the advantages and shortcomings of such weapons.
ОтветитьSo for me as a kid I found the last samurai to be inspiring made me love the Japanese culture more but at the same time see honor to be personal and should be respected still respect japan in man craftsmanship the only thing I wish will change is acceptance of foreigners beyond that would love to see cherry blossoms
Ответитьa skilled archer generally would have an advantage as far as rate of fire over someone with a muzzle loading rifle it was one of the things the us military and settlers had trouble dealing with when fighting natives when we pushed west as in the time it took a man to load and fire a muzzle loading rifle some native archers could fire 10 or more arrows
ОтветитьAlso none of the main characters are wearing chomages, including Tom.
ОтветитьRespect and blessings ❤️
Ответитьin the movie, Omura-san hires the ninjas, probably from another faction/family in protest against the old ways.
ОтветитьI don‘t know if this is only in the German translation, but there is a scene where it‘s said that the Samurai refuse the further use of firearms, because of the traditional values. This implies that they were using firearms, but stopped doing it.
ОтветитьTokyo Drift gotta do a collab with a foreigner in japan to get the dual perspectives
ОтветитьYeah...the Samurai don't defeat guns...hence the spoiler alert ending and current today of Japan. Sure, Samurai could win some battles against poorly trained troops and or perfect circumstances where everything was in Samurai favor (a lot of the battles in the movie), but if you saw the same movie I saw, I think we saw the Samurai get mowed down by guns ultimately.
ОтветитьWhat Japanese movies would you guys recommend for someone trying to learn Japanese and the overall culture
ОтветитьAnd now let compare to
The Last Samurai - The True Story (Maxi Giant) or (theCajun Cutthroat)
13 samurai the best. ninja scroll the best
ОтветитьI'd love to know if the Japanese soldiers really did the get on your knees and bow thing when they defeated the samurai like they did in the movie, like you normally do at the end of a traditional japanese martial arts lesson. It's such a heart warming thing if they did, bowing to their former warriors and defenders of Japan as a respectful goodbye.
ОтветитьI agree with your point on the ninja scene. It was so random and unexplained.
Ответитьanyone who is a fan of this movie should watch the anime Tale of the Heike
Ответить"We cannot forget who we are or where we come from."
~ Emperor Meiji, The Last Samurai
Arigato, Shogo!! I have recently taken up Iaido and have been watching quite a bit of your content. It is well done, and I very much appreciate your perspective on things! Peace to you!
ОтветитьPlease watch and review “The Hunted” with Christopher Lambert
ОтветитьFor me what stood out most of this movie was the way it depicted the unifying humanity between different peoples. We are all human, we are all one and the same in that aspect and that common ground can be enough to break down all barriers to unite and stand together for what we believe in.
ОтветитьAm i the only one who is impressed by the japanese culture to a point of obsession? Japan is probably one of the most fascinating countries ive ever seen, there is something extremely attractive about the japanese culture.
ОтветитьKonban wa. I am seeking the title of a B&W film about the duel on Ganryu Shima between Musashi and Kojiro. The duel had only one sudden oar stroke which felled Kojiro. This unique film is the only film which perfectly illustrates Musashi's philosophy of striking at the correct moment. Your help searching for this unique film is appreciated.
Domo Arigato.
Also its not impossible to defeat these guns with bows and arrows. The native americans with bows and horses and spears defeated the americans many times and the introduction of repeating rifles and revolvers is what gave the americans the advantage finally. In this movie they are still using single shot firearms so its is very likely a bow where you could shoot 4 to 8 arrows in the time they could shoot 2 bullets was by far the better option. Especially with how innacurate these old rifles were.
ОтветитьCould a japanese archer not really defeat a japanese rifelman? Sure if theres more than one than the other the out come would be obvious but I don't think it would be "impossible" for a japanese archer to kill a rifleman, especially one with a musket.
ОтветитьCan’t believe all the actually Japanese people missed what the “ Meiji emperor” said at the end…..we have railway, modern stuff, but are we forgetting our root and culture and where are we came from? Look around Japan really, today. You like preserve Japanese cultures right? How much those traditional value and culture are dying and as a fellow iaidoka, do you know how sad it is when a Gaijin like myself is the only ppl available to perform Iaido, tea ceremonies, shakuhachi performance and demonstrations in many actual Japanese cultural center and event like the Omatsuri…..local Japanese cultural center can’t even find a “genuine” Japanese to represent Japanese traditional art and culture anymore…..isn’t that sadden you and serve as a wake up call and reminder for all nihonjin? And when every time I have to educate and explain what us Iaido to actual Japanese people who have absolutely no clue what I was doing or performing……that’s very sad, indeed.
ОтветитьHere's an idea for a movie review - 13 Assassins
Ответитьthanks for your honest review.i also watched the movie twice thinking that there's more on the so called ideal bushido of nathan;coz i already analyzed too before that its too hollywood that he would such act.
ОтветитьAs far as true Bushido is concerned the movie is based on Saigo Takamori''s life and he fought.
ОтветитьThe Ninja did try to sneak attack, Nathan just spotted them first and alerted Katsumoto. And although the Government was gone, Omura hated Katsumoto with a passion and hired them to kill him.
ОтветитьI remember the advertisement for the extras in Japan at the time said that they were looking for "young men with martial arts experience".
ОтветитьHi shogo, I'm sure you'd love to watch Seven Samurai which is a classic movie about the Samurai in which it is all in Japanese and only Japanese actors are in the movie. The movie was so powerful that it influenced the movie, the magnificent seven
ОтветитьDon't know if you continued the Movies reaction series? But do you know the 1980 TV mini-series "Shogun" based on James Clawells novel of the same name....
ОтветитьHow about the miniseries Shogun?
