I'm interested in keyboard building, and clicked on this video to learn about it, but I would like a video where instead of him building one, he just explains everything we need to know and buy before building one, then a seperate video that shows you how to actually build it.

I'm new to custom keyboard but I want a really, really nice one. Something in dark blue with light keycaps. Can you recommend something? I like tactile and linear switches. I like exxtra thoccy. It is all SOO complicated for me. I look at the website, and I dont get how to even get my own custom keyboard. Like, do I have to buy keys and everything else individually? I am so confused. And if so, could someone find an easier to figure out website or just tell me how to figure that stuff out?

Hipyo! I have a beginner question b/c i started my keyboard hobby about 3 months ago(though to broke to get a keyboard but I’m getting there😊) but I’m still confused. How do you know what stabs work with your keyboard? I hope you answer this question cause if you don’t, I probably won’t find a ligament answer. Pls help and thanks Hipyo! I love watching your vids I can’t find anything else to watch(mostly cause I’ve watched them all)😅. Must say I am tired of all these keyboards we can't even buy. It is nice all these keyboard reviewers can get free models but we need to keep group buying and waiting a year or longer sometimes.

Heres my problem with custom keyboards. most people only need one. so its not really sensible to build like 9, so it needs to realistically be one and done. IE starter keyboard kits are a waste of time and money. plastic keyboards IMO give you nothing a gaming keyboard wont. so you want a nice quality aluminum keyboard in a size you can actually live with. so TKL, 96% or maybe full size if you aren't a gamer. you are going to want good switches but what kind? there are almost infinite key switches and no way for a non hardcore keyboard builder to know which ones he wants. so you have a chicken or the egg problem. then the cost and availability. a no holds custom build with aluminum case is like $500 only you cant buy one because they are all group buys for next year or sold out. then you don't have many good retailers short of buying from china. so more waiting. what a trash experience.

You have to take a look at the Royal Kludge rk 61 in my oppinion a great keyboard for the price

so i have a 60% keburd and i have yellow switches and the man i have bued the kebord from he sad the kebord is the best is the world but i wont to ask is the yellow switches is good or not ???????

Hi hippyo! Just found you because kinda on the fence of making first keyboard. But for games and work. 0 clue what are the different types and whatnot and what would i need to get started. Just went to kinetics lab via your link and the ones i like(96%) says not for gaming. 🤷

It's hilarious to me how everyone's been sleeping on the kinetic lab switches! The salmons are the first switches I immediately reordered 110!
I don't really care for any of the linear switches but they are very high quality.
Now tecsee is the bougie cool kid switch.
I've been using them for over 2 years now 😇

I require, 2.4ghz Wireless, metal case (pref black aluminum, that way i don't have to paint), Knob, south facing LED. Every board I have looked at is missing at least 1 or 2 of these requirements...

Excellent beginner guide, but why go through the trouble of making a step by step and then just skip over how to lube and film switches... Even just a demonstration on one would have been so helpful!

i just built my first keyboard and my only but biggest mistake was not taking the little plastic piece off the bluetooth/usb/receiver toggle. Now the little toggle broke off and I can only switch it's modes by using a toothpick or something T.T
