So why do people go on high fat low carb diet actually lose a lot of weight? High fat didn't cause insulin resistence! If it does, it would be difficult to lose weight!

I am not convinced that dietary fat accumulates in the cells, since dietary fat is normally broken down by the digestive system or excreted.Instead, I believe it is usually the fat made by the body in response to excess calories, and this body made fat (not dietary fat) gets stored inside the cells.

There is no best diet. Everybody is different. Start understanding biological individuality, so you don't get everybody confused. Some do well with meat and not with plant foods, and some do well with plant foods and not with meat. And of course, there are two more groups of people, those who do well with both and those who do well with neither.

I understand what you said about processed meats but what about chicken, non processed meat like white and red meat, milk, eggs, not so sure about cheese but it also? How is it a bad thing to get rid of carbs when you are trying to fix an insulin resistance problem? I mean carbs contribute to the problem right

If a vegan diet is so good why do you have to take so many supplements when on a vegan diet?
also meat doesn't spike my blood sugar no where as much as any carb ladenned vegetables

Unfortunately this video although meaning well has confirmation basis and a dogmatic almost “religious” perspective. They sight studies that only confirm their view point and ignore the mountain of data against it. They make claims that are not true or proven.

Every person is different and has different needs. Their approach may work for them or you well. However if you have metabolic syndrome, fatty liver disease, type two diabetes be very cautious here. Especially with fruit. Consumption of fruits high in fructose can further cause liver damage. Over consumption can cause it.

Nutrition should not be dogmatic. Although meaning well, I feel these two may possibly due more harm than good.

Especially for type two diabetes. In my practice I’ve watched a lot of people reverse pre diabetes and diabetes/ fatty liver disease. Most absolutely must reduce carbohydrates especially in the form of grains and simple starches. Most need to increase muscle mass and need more protein. Most need to be careful of all foods that quickly turn into sugar, especially fruit. Yes, fiber helps too.

I like to eat Avocado couple times a week, sometimes nut butters, chia seeds, and Hemp seeds...are these fats that should be avoided?

I often put all these in a smoothie for after the gym or a snack

The study you point to at th 3 min mark has only an n=10 can you please share somewhere other more comprehensive research which proves the point of high fat diet increasing insulin sensitivity. I'm really trying to escape the bias i've developed after using keto on and off for years, but the level of research you guys point too makes me wonder if there's a similar yet opposite bias going on here in this community. I'd really like to be more data driven. your book also doesn't share many large human studies from high impact journals on this topic (lots on benefits of plant vs animal). do they not exist? if not... how can we be so confident in these assertions without strong science? and without relying on just observational outcomes from your clients / cohort (which while compelling, aren't scientifically rigorous) you guys also talk about keto type diets being bad in the long run and increasing risk factors for dis-ease (I instinctively feel this is spot on, but where's the strong science?). much appreciate any response.

What you are saying is exactly what has made my sugar levels normal. I started a plant based diet 2 months ago. I eat vegetables, little fruit, nuts and seeds, no grains. I do IF 16/8 everyday. This way of eating is a lot easier way of eating. I do eat some fish and shrimp, not a lot, nothing fried. I keep baked goodies made using almond flour. My 90 day average is 128, I won’t know my A1C until I go back to the doctor. Is there a way I can get to know my A1C from the Glucose monitor?

I'm a diabetic with very very stubborn insulin resistance. (30 years) I just started a whole food vegan diet. It's scary bc I've always eaten low carb "keto" diet. So how what is a safe glucose level RISE after eating these Whole Foods? I will say, my sugars go up when I eat these carbs, but it does come down fairly quickly.

Our ancestors would probably rather have had a nice steak but found it much easier to eat grass and roots, that's why their poo had plants in it.We have these pointy teeth for a reason, to eat meat.
Carbs push up blood sugars, the insulin has to deal with it.We have destroyed our diets with low fat added sugar foods and tinkered with fruit and veg to make them sweeter and nicer to eat, not to mention covered with sprays and poisons.
