Chihuahuas are great if you actually treat them like dogs and not toys, accessories, or little demons.

the first three dogs i had were a golden retriever, a border collie and a Germanischer bärenhund. definitely wouldn't recommend the latter two for anyone without a farm and lots of work for the dogs to do. since then, i've mostly had golden retrievers, however i am looking at getting another bärenhund. no need for a border collie since i don't have enough sheep anymore to warrant all the work i would have to put in. great video, and i can tell you're someone who really knows and loves dogs.

I've been on the canine side of yt and ig for a while, and I have a feeling, that people just forgot about rough collies, which is a pity. These guys are fun to train.

I'll take an Irish Wolf hound over a Newfie any day. They're gentle and are great family dogs plus they don't require as much maintenance as the Newfie.

We have been graced with the honor of a Toffee, she's a lab/retriever and she's amazing. The most chill dog ever even as a puppy. Important not to over feed them, she developed 2 lumps we needed to remove cause my Dad kept giving her food from his dinners. I finally got him to stop and she's a healthy and happy 14yr old. They are very special dogs. And for those wanting a dog to feel safe... they're a great choice, she's got a very powerful bark when people come to the door. They're the best all rounder dog I've ever come across. I cuddle with her every night, don't know what I'll do without her ❤

I gotta say the Ck spaniels are banned from being bred in some areas of my country because it’s animal cruelty to have dogs with too small heads to hold their brains, eyes, etc.

Labs are a bit too generic. I'd get a cocker spaniel.

I personally DONT agree with the cavalier King Charles spaniel for first time owners. My cousin was about to get a cavalier King Charles spaniel and I of coarse have had a few dogs in my life helped them with research and came across that they are prone to ALOT of heath problems. I would say a dog for first time owners would be a dog with less energy, a small dog( if you get a big dog you need to do a lot more training. ), and not a breed that is met for guarding.

What about golden retrievers? For the first timers why u didnt count them? Any reason?

About the Newfoundland which might be drawback, is they tend to drool, a lot, so keep a hankie handle. And maybe the shedding. Not a big deal for some. I had German Shepherds for 30 years and nothing sheds like a shepherd.

King Charles spaniels will break your heart. They are very sweet but Inbreeding has caused them to have faulty hearts and other issues.

My first dog was a saint bernard, i had 2 of them and they have both passed away some time ago. they were very friendly outside dogs pretty calm relaxed dogs and they lose a lot of hair, im getting a belgian malinois in 11 days looking forward to training her.

Please consider other things when suggesting breeds cause people will actually watch your videos and make decisions based on it. Chevaliers are a breed with major health problems and even forbidden to breed in a close country from you due to their health being considered incompatible with life. You should not incentive people to by dogs that are made to suffer.
