He attended the Waterkloof House Preparatory School. In 1988, Elon Musk graduated from
Pretoria Boys High School.
Around the age of 10, he developed an interest in computers. He learnt programming at an
early age, and at the age of 12.
After completing high school, at the age of 17, he moved to Canada in 1989 to study business
and physics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Elon Musk graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics as well as a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Economics from Wharton School in Pennsylvania.
In 1995, Elon Musk launched his first company in with his brother Kimbal Musk, an IT
company that licenced newspaper software for online city guides.
