The only video of explaining when the rig will go light, other tutorials just mentioned when going fast, the rig will become light. Your video explained the feeling of going light., the transition from heavy to light....This is important as I can adjust my body to correctly adjust the pulling force of the sail..
My mistake is when I step the back foot on the leeward rail, my body is not leaning back anymore (although I am staying low with my knee bent). As a result, the sail pulls me to the water when my back hand sheets in and front hand push at the same time
A really nice, clear, detailed tutorial/ Thanks
ОтветитьColin, very good video. Any comments as to the timing of the rig flip ?
ОтветитьCarve Jibe...favorite. Needs lots of speed...learned so in Maui.
ОтветитьReally good explanation and nice tutorial. Thanks a lot for this video.

Ответитьok dude, but at 47 I still put a plaiza, I started with 12 years and I was many days adrift and so or learn or drown, I give you the like to share with those who do not know
Ответитьthanks!!!
Ответитьvery detailed video, probably the best to explain the jibe thank you
ОтветитьJesus that's a lot to think about, too much. My advice is to keep it simple and improve things incrementally. Firstly try and keep weight forward through the turn, easiest way is to press down on the boom through the turn, this will increase speed, hopefully remaining on the plane and things will start to feel right. Worked for me many years ago
ОтветитьGreat job, thanks for the pointers
ОтветитьWow! this is really well explained!
ОтветитьI need to try windsurfing on a golf course. Much less chop.

ОтветитьAlways trying to improve my jibing I cant get enough of tutorials, this one for sure is in the top 3 if not number 1. Thanks a lot. What I would appreciate is a tutorial for overpowered conditions, that's when my jibes get messy.

ОтветитьGybe.
ОтветитьI never could carve a jibe... until someone told me to press down on the boom to drive the nose thru the carve. That was it. That didn't work for a laydown jibe tho.
ОтветитьIs this meant for upwind to downwind? Or downwind to upwind or can it be used literally anywhere to make a 180 turn?
ОтветитьQuality video - really clear and very instructional. Thank you!
ОтветитьExcellent video!! Thanks guys!!
ОтветитьWithout doubt the clearest and most informative breakdown of a jibe. He's a natural teacher / communicator.
